We had a selection of dishes including the vegan pakora. These were light but lacked flavour. It’s a shame as they were pretty well made but not enough spices (not heat but flavour). I had the bean burger which was OK but needs a sauce like vegan Mayo or some sort of condiment as otherwise it’s pretty dry. The rest of our party had the dish of the day (Dahl) which was good and the beetroot risotto which they were happy to veganise. All in all not bad but just needs a bit of refining and more “Oompf” in flavour! The ambiance was great, lots of tables outside on the street terrace and friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely go back again.

Great vegan and vegetarian place in the middle of a fisher village. The staff is very kind and the atmosphere is wholesome !! Been there more than once and had a lovely visit each time. There are so many different dishes on the menu that it is kind of hard to choose what to eat.

I would recommend this restaurant to vegetarians and everyone, but vegans may be a little disappointed. To start we had to wait a while for anything to arrive to our table, we have eaten the starters without the drinks, then the mains took a while to arrive, I would say that service was a bit slow. The waiter was very nice and was able to tell us what were the vegan dishes, shame there was only the vegan salad and the risotto available. The non veggie people in our group liked all their meals and left happy. A vegetarian restaurant in a fisherman town is a great think to see and I understand that there comes a lot of challenges with that, I wish I had a better experience but I would come again.

Healthy vegan food - Edit
It's the only vegan-friendly restaurant in the area and it is tucked away in a pretty sidestreet of the pedestrian zone. They have 5 main dishes which are/can be made vegan, some vegan starters and one vegan dessert. The vegan options weren't clearly labeled on the card, but the staff was very friendly & helpfully pointed them out. I went with my omni parents twice and they were satisfied with the food. I had the vegan beetroot risotto the first time which was very creamy. The vegan bean burger was even better. The side of potato & sweet potato chips were very crispy. Definitely recommend the vegan dessert and the juices which are thick and freshly made. If you want to go around 7-8, I recommend making a reservation. The second time we went the staff had to pull out a table for us from the inside because it was so busy. That evening the waiting time was also long which is understandable because the restaurant is relatively small and has just 4 people working at once.

Best starters in portugal - Edit
Me and my wife were hungry as wolves when we arrived. We ordered three starters (broccoli salad, crispy potatoes and onion pakoras) all of which were excellent.
Read moreWe both ordered the green spirit pizza, and it was good but paled in comparison to the starters. There were another 4 dishes we could have chosen from, and sadly we didn't have the opportunity to come back.
After eating, it is just a short walk to the island ferry.

I had a great dinner with friends at Escandinavia Green Spirit. The staff was very friendly, they even put an extra table outside for us, since all other tables outside were occupied. About half of the options on the menu are vegan.

The waiters were nice but the service took very long. Most dishes could be made vegan, which unfortunately meant taking out ingredients (like cheese) and ending up with a sub-optimal dish and paying the same price (this is something that for some reason some vegetarian or vegan-option restaurants don’t get it: a really good vegan dish is never a vegetarian dish without the cheese/egg)

Bit of a wait for table at night, but worth it. I was staying in a house a block over and was here every day for lunch or dinner. Wished they were open for breakfast :(

It is always great finding vegetarian restaurants in this area of Portugal. The menu is eclectic but delicious, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is sweet and lovely.

Fabulous freshly made, clean and healthy food. Very friendly waiter who spoke good English guided me round the menu. The only criticism is they nothing is labelled as vegan - it’d be really easy for them to do this as most things were vegan or easily veganised. I had a delicious spinach and chickpea burger without the bun, served with a beautiful and photogenic salad and homemade crisps.
