Such lovely croissants - Edit
Epicurieus is the reason why I go to the Rotterdam Oogstmarkt every so many weeks.
Read moreThey love to experiment with new products and new croissants flavours. Which shows their passion, I believe.
My favourites are the savoury vegan ham and cheese croissants, their pain chocolat, and the almond frangipane croissants. Which they'll have always. If you go on time.
And their pasteis de nata! And the macarons.
Pros: Flaky croissants, New products all the time, Nicely located at the Oogstmarkt

Great bakery - Edit
They have the best pastel de nata I've ever tasted: creamy, caramelish, crispy and fruity. Even better than the one at Life's a peach (Utrecht). Other puff pastries are great as well: almond croissant, hazelnut croissant, baklava croissant, ham-cheese croissant, apple turnover, veggie turnover, almond/poppyseed roll and chana masala roll.
Read moreIn addition, they have some tasty pastries: blueberry cake with white chocolate coating, macarons, forest fruit crumble, carrot cake and 'mergpijpjes'. Their cookies are quite nice as well.
However, they also have some disappointing foods: their G&T rolls, Pain suisse and cheese croissant lack flavour and their pies tend to be too sweet. I also don’t like their seasonal 'gevulde speculaas' (too spiced) and amandelstaaf (dough was too firm and hard).

LOVE this bakery - Edit
This bakery is great. Everything is vegan and so delicious. I tried the vegan “ham cheese” croissant and also the Gin and Tonic bun. Both were so good and you wouldn’t know it was vegan. They are on the market in Rotterdam on Saturday.

6-star rating please, Happycow! - Edit
Best vegan bakery I know. Would give 6 stars if I could...
Read moreEpicurieus' croissants are a bit of a misnomer: they should be calles croissaints, because they give me the holy pleasure of indulging in proper croissants for the first time since I became vegan over two decades ago.
The croissants, pain au chocolat and cakes are crazy delicious. Definately an extra reason to go to the gym more often (or else grow very fat).
They have a great selection of cakes, some of which change with the seasons. The black forest cake, speculaas cake and mergpijpen are my favorites in the cake-department.
You can order directly at the bakery and pick up your order. They also have a stall at Rotterdamse Oogst on Saturdays. Or you can buy a selection of their products at Quench in the Hague (also listed on Happycow).
They were pioneers who stuck their heads out when times were thougher as a start-up vegan bakery, for which they deserve huge credits.
Pros: Croissaints instead of croissant, Vegan pastry pioneers
Cons: Limited availability in shops, Need more gym time to indulge like I want to

The best croissant! - Edit
Their pastries have been a relief on this lockdown period. The croissants are amazing and the winter cake as well! I have no idea how these recipes could be veganized so well.

Very yummy baked goods - Edit
This place makes amazing cake and pastries! I especially love their rainbow cake and pina colada cake. Also, they make really yummy ham cheese croissants.
Read moreThe only thing I like a bit less are the creamy cakes, but I'd say that is just a matter of preferences.
So, 5 stars because they are just really really good!
They have no physical store though. You can find their products in a lot of coffee places and you can order in advance and pick it up at their bakery
Pros: Vegan croisaants, Unique cakes, Yummy
Cons: I would love to have even more options haha, No physical store

This bakery is wonderful, I’m completely in love with their croissant, pain au chocolat, quiche lorraine and all the rest! Follow them on Instagram, they don’t have a shop but they sell in some bars, markets and delivery at home.

Amazing vegan bakery - Edit
Epicurieus is the best vegan bakery in the Netherlands. The owners are the most amazing people. I got to know them when they made an amazing anniversary cake for my friends parents. Also did a workshop at the bakery. We made the most amazing vegan croissants and chocolate pains. Sometimes they're selling their goods on market and other events but you can also order online. They're always coming out with new bakes but I love the almond croissant the best!

Pros: All vegan and delicious

I visit them whenever they're at a market or choose their products in a cafe when I can. Always a treat and so great to eat the most delicious croissants totally vegan! A friendly conversation as a bonus, a great deal!

The best vegan bakery! - Edit
They make delicious traditional pastry and snacks vegan, and they do so very succesfully 🌱 The almond croissant and the mergpijpen are really good! They have a number of shops which offer their products, like Quench café and Haleys comet. They also offer workshops in their bakery which are really nice and not too expensive. The owners are brother and sister and are very nice people 💚

I loved eating baked goods that I haven't been able to eat since I went vegan. They also have amazing cakes that you can buy directly from them or from various cafes around The Hague. Super kind people!

You can find what you miss - Edit
The bakery sales its products in different cafés but you can also order a week-end box or a special event box with different types of veganized pastries and snacks.
Read moreI don't like all of the products but I felt in love when I fond some products that I missed when becoming vegan (viennoiseries, macarons...) and some others were a nice discovery (kouign-amann, bokkenpoten...).
They have a range of french, dutch and very diverse inspiration products, so everybody can find something they like.
When ordering a box, you can pick it at the bakery and see that the place is clean. They also do some workshop there.
Pros: popular veganized products, tasty & fresh, nice owners
