Excellent Choice! - Edit
I’ve been a loyal fan of an Ethiopian spot in Atlanta for YEARS so I was hesitant about trying some place new. Enjera did NOT disappoint. Excellent food. Prompt service. Friendly staff. AND reasonable prices.

You Must Go Here! - Edit
My husband and I decided to eat Ethiopian last night and had a pleasant walk to the restaurant Enjera. It has a cute front, which looks clean and tidy. As we entered, a server came straight to us and took us to our table. They seated us at the front by the window with a view of the street.
Read moreWe were given water and the menus. We decided quickly as everything vegan was clearly labeled on the menu. I had a glass of wine also which came very quickly. Our waitress was very pleasant and very helpful with the menu.
We ordered our food and waited about 10 - 15 mins, which is perfect in my book. Any sooner and you have to question how fresh your food is!
The food came out on a massive sharer plate, with two separate plates full of the Enjera (bread) which was warm, and fluffy.
We tucked into the food, using the Enjera instead of the fork as that is how you eat Ethiopian food. There was not one thing that I didn't like. The flavours were AMAZING!! The bread was delicious and we had so much fun eating this way. They have great vegan options!
I loved it that much, that I can not wait to return, to enjoy their awesome food!
Pros: Many vegan options, Very friendly and helpful staff, Quick service
Cons: It's not fully vegan

Pretty good. - Edit
Prices are steep especially when compared with other local Ethiopian places. Great flavors on the veggie combo. Fair amount of vegan options that are clearly labeled.

The veggie platter comes with many items - Edit
I thought the food was good but I wasn’t blown away like I thought I would be. I think it comes with too many veggie items and not enough lentil based items. The sambusas I also felt didn’t really have much contents in them

Horrible experience for non Ethiopian - Edit
PLEASE READ BEFORE DINING IF YOU ARE Non Ethiopian! If I could give this place 0 stars I would I have never been so publicly disrespected ever. I went here on a Tuesday with my 3 friends. We are all African American and the food was good but the server was very RUDE! She was not friendly at all. She did not assist us with ordering even though this was our first time eating there. She never checked on us and made us feel very uncomfortable the whole time. She rushed us to leave and this altogether was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life.

Good food, small portions - Edit
My husband and I ordered the veggie combo which was very tasty. We thought the split yellow peas were great. I loved the cabbage, carrot, and potato dish; my husband loved the red lentil dish (sorry we forgot to write down names).
Read moreThe server was polite and sat us outside which we appreciated since we were trying to social distance. She also gave us disposable cups and silverware. I’m not sure if they normally do this, but we appreciated it nonetheless. She also left a pitcher on the table for us. Initially, she was not wearing a mask but later put one on.
The food was tasty, but we were slightly disappointed by the portion size. We ate all the Enjera she gave us and the Enjera the food was served on. The curries/salads themselves were all good (we loved the salad dressing on the fresh salad), but we wished the portions were bigger so we didn’t have to fill up on Enjera.
One other minor complaint is that the waitress was a little slow to take our order and seemed to forget about us when we were outside. We wound up having to go in to pay because we were sitting waiting for her for awhile and we had to leave. Not a big deal, just a minor inconvenience.
Overall, it’s a nice restaurant with good food. They had some decent COVID-19 measures in place. We’d definitely recommend!
Pros: Good vegan options , Clearly labeled vegan options , Outdoor seating for social distancing
Cons: Small portions , Slow wait staff

It seems like this restaurant is very popular because they were out of the vegan chicken strips, but the vegan sampler I tried was amazing! I will surely be visiting them again!

Excellent Ethiopian restaurant with delicious vegan options! - Edit
I had lunch at Enjera with a non vegan friend on Oct 28 2017. We started with a Veggie Sambusa with lentils and potatoes and it was excellent! We both shared a vegan platter. I had the Veggie Combo without the spicy lentils and the veggies were delicious especially the yellow split peas and alicha. My friend tried the Vegan Kitfo Dullet which was a vegan meat with mushroom entree. She enjoyed it very much but it was too spicy for me. Good service and nice ambiance. Highly recommend.

Best Ethiopian Restaurant In The Area - Edit
I have been indulging in vegan Ethiopian combo plates for years.
Read moreThis is definitely the best in Northern VS, and possibly the best in the DC area.
I ordered the combo plate, and all of the dishes were flavorful, the textures were spot on, and the dish was the perfect size.
The restaurant itself has a warm, classy feel.
I need to try the other vegan items on the menu, including mock meat dishes.

2 unique vegan dishes - Edit
Most Ethiopian restaurants have your standard fare, as does this restaurant: salad, injera, fit fit, sambusas, lentils, collards, yellow split peas and shiro. All good stuff! Very vegan! Very filling!
Read moreHowever, Enjera also had thin, delicious teff gluten-free injera ($2 more) and 2 vegan entrees. One of those entrees is mushroom based and the other is tofu and tomato and onions based. You can order them a la carte or as a sampler with the shiro. However, it is pricy, at about $25 per person give or take with tax and tip.
Good food, but the price feels high.
Pros: Vegan entrees, Vegan appetizers, Gluten free injera
Cons: Expensive, Parking

Good veggie combo --- hours listed here are wrong - Edit
I went here at 9PM on a Monday and it was open. They said till 11pm. (Yelp claims 2am so it is wrong in a different way.) So this is not a lunch-only place as the current Happy Cow listing seems to suggest. The staff is very friendly and the place is attractive.
Read moreThey have about 4 veggie choices (one chickpea stew-like dish, two with mock meats, and one veggie combo with collards, cabbage, two kinds of lentils, and some salad). I had the veggie combo and it was served in the Ethiopian restaurant style on top of Injera bread with cut rolls of Injera on the side as well. The portions were huge --- I could eat about half of my plate and packed the rest to eat the next day.
Pros: tasty veggie choices, friendly staff, huge portions
Cons: prices reasonable but not cheap
