Drinks and ice cream in a fun digital art space - Edit
This cafe is inside the team lab: Borderless digital art museum. We popped along expecting to maybe be able to get a green/black tea but were pleasantly surprised when there were rice milks latte options and vegan gelato. Everything here is vegan. They only sell the gelato as part of a set with a drink.
Read moreI had a Barley Tea Rice Milk Latte. It wasn't quite to my taste. It had a nice sweet and nutty start to it but the after taste was quite bitter and it was too bitter for my liking. My partner had a Roasted Tea Chamomile Rice Milk Latte and she enjoyed it.
We also both got green tea and coconut milk gelato. It was really rich and creamy and tasted pleasant. Although, there were a few little ice chunks in there. I'm not big on green tea so it's not quite my thing but I did enjoy it.
It gets 5* because it's a cool extension of the gallery itself. They project images of blooming flowers into your cup, so as long as you still have tea in your cup the projections will go on. You also get projections of branches and butterflies coming out from the gelato bowl.
It was a bit confusing at first, you have to queue up and place your order. They then hand you some little pots for each item you order. We then waited a bit to be seated at which point they took our pots away, before confirming our orders and bringing us the drinks.
