El Taco Shack has good protein options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. I suspect that this might not be the most ideal vegan option.

The pickings are slim out in Schoharie County, so El Taco Shack gets a lot of our business. I love that they have the option of either beyond beef or tofu and more topping options that any of the chain places. The portions are immense, so if you’re the type of person that will eat the whole burrito no matter how full you are, you may need to reign in your server. Great patio seating in the back for nice days. We’ve never had issues with seating inside or out!

Multiple Vegan Options - Edit
We stopped here after picking up a sofa from a charity shop and we’re so happy to support a local business! There were four vegan base options on the menu when we went (no jackfruit). We got three beyond meat tacos and three tofu. The pickled onions were absolutely fantastic and we liked the salsas as well. The guacamole was okay but was highly acidic to prevent browning. My toddler really enjoyed the tofu!
Read moreThe only issue I really had was that all base options are kept next to each other so there could be some cross contamination, so if you are really really strict, this may not be the spot for you. They did keep the vegan options towards the customer, though, so it’s less likely non-vegan options will drop into those tubs.
