Custom Vegan Keto GF UnMatchable Cake

This was a matcha dream come true for me! Absolutely phenomenal! I called ahead to 3 vegan bakeries in Vancouver, unfortunately, to my surprise, no one even knows how to make a “vegan keto GF matcha cake”, then, Edible (a boutique cafe bakery) was the only one could make it. I was overwhelmed! So I eagerly picked and tasted with my friends and we couldn’t believe how delicious that was! They have choices and ingredients used to take orders all listed online. Be sure to check it out if you are in Vancouver area.

Vegan treats

While I appreciate a bakery offering both GF/vegan items, we were disappointed with the GF slices (the lemon slice crumbled apart as staff were packing it). The vegan-only blueberry lemon loaf was very good.

Updated from previous review on 2023-08-21

Pros: Vegan blueberry lemon loaf, Vegan bakery

Cons: Unfriendly service, Underwhelming GF items , Small portions for price

gooey cinnamon rolls

Loved the cinnamon roll, gooey and moist, just as it should be.

I also liked that when I asked for milk with the tea they gave a separate little pot so I could let the tea steep and then add the milk to taste.

Fun to try

We bought a few sweets to try and thought they were good, but not great. I appreciate that they have gluten free options for those who need it, but felt the gluten free Nanaimo bar had a grainy gluten free texture.

Amazing Vegan Baked Goods

Stopped in and had the apple sticky bun. So delicious. It was hard picking just one item to buy though since everything there looked SO good

100% végane 🎉

Petite pâtisserie végane à Vancouver. Il n'y a pas un énorme menu mais tout à l'air délicieux.

Pros: 100% végane, Abordable

Delish

We got cupcakes from there for my birthday. We had chocolate cake with chocolate icing, chocolate cake with marshmallow icing and vanilla cake with lemon. The cake was spongy and tasty and the icing just the right level of sweet. I’ll be back!

Pros: All vegan, Gluten free options , Great staff

Awesome cinnamon buns

I was able to call ahead and reserve a couple cinnamon buns, and they were so good.
Great price and size. They're a little different because they're baked in muffin tins, so there are harder edges -- as opposed to the type that are all baked together and pulled apart. Still great, just a detail worth mentioning.
Can't wait to get over there again.

Pros: Delicious, Great value, Easy pick up

Little cozy café, not exceptional but ok

I tried one of their sweet (GF carrot loaf) and one savoury (spinach artichoke roll) items. All was good, though not exceptional - I could probably bake the same at home. The staff was nice and the place is cozy. I like that you can actually watch them making their goods on spot! I did not manage to make the wifi work though, so I did not stay longer.

Pros: Opens early, Tasty cakes

Very disappointing

I had cupcakes and a Strawberry cake. Both were dry, and not tasty. They claim it was fruity, there was barely any fruit inside.
The decoration is pretty and that's all.
No repeat from me

Cons: Dry, tasteless

Decent but a bit underwhelming

Baked items were decent but I found them to be a bit lacking. The cinnamon bun tasted plain, it didn't really have a cinnamon-sugar filling, just a lot of icing on the outside.

They didn't have a lot of items in their display case, I'm not sure if it's more of a catering bakery.

Pros: Friendly

All About Those Buns!

This is going to be a narrow review. Why? Because despite the wonderful assortment of pastries they have on offer, I can't stop buying the cinnamon buns! The buns are warm and gooey in the centre, crisp on the edges, carry a subtle heat from the cinnamon, and have a light glaze that compliments the bun without leaving you feeling guilty. As far as cinnamon buns go, I can say this is a MUST STOP for vegans passing through Vancouver.

Back open under new management

As of 2018 there is a new owner and the quality seems back up after having slipped last year.
Only tried a couple of things but they were delicious!!
Cinnamon buns are great again which is wonderful :)

Out of this world baked goods

I love their mud pies, seasonal sugar cookies, cupcakes, and pretty much anything I've ever tried there. I made a batch of birthday cupcakes earlier this summer that were a major fail. I called Edible Flours last minute and they were able to come through with a variety of colourful cupcakes that saved the day - my friends loved them! Great place.

No Guilty Aftertaste

Next time you go into a Safeway, take a look at the ingredient list on a package of cupcakes. Not only is it at least as long as your pinky finger, there are a lot of chemicals, dough conditioners, hydrogenated oils and other unidentifiable ingredients. Somehow, including a bunch of ingredients that barely qualify as food in a dessert can trick the human taste buds into satisfaction.

So, take a break from crap desserts for a while to let your taste buds reset before going in to Edible Flours, so that your rating of it is unadulterated.

I think you will find that this place is pretty damned fine. I try to avoid baked goods, so I'm not a regular, but whenever I do indulge, I'm never disappointed.

This morning when I woke up, I had one of their, (okay, I'm going to be brave and admit it to the world) two of their cupcakes. See? I was able to convince myself, due to the high quality of their ingredients, that it would not be entirely junky to have two cupcakes for breakfast! Where else can you get that plausible deniability and license to indulge?! Nowhere that I know of in Vancouver. You may find vegan treats, but not with this quality of ingredients. So, I had two cupcakes for breakfast and even day old they were completely delicious and did not taste junky.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they may include some savory baked items in the future.

This place is definitely worth a stop. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to try baked goods without the unpleasant aftertaste of guilty negative self-talk.

Pros: Mostly healthful ingredients, Delicious treats

Cons: Agave often used as the sweetener.
