Paradise in Thailand - Edit
This place is simply amazing and deserves 5 stars, you should definitely stay there in a bungalow to enjoy the island and relax in your hammock (or at least stop by for the food). The owners are really kind and helpful. The menu always offers choice between vegetables and meat. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the fried rice morning glory. Prices are more expensive than in Bangkok or street shops but still cheap (mostly 100 to 130 baht for a fulfilling meal).
Read moreYou can take a cooking class and they also have a workshop teaching you how to make your own coconut oil with coconut grown in their garden! You can then use the coconuts to make bowls, which is a nice and light souvenir to bring back home. They also sell some local and eco friendly products like coffee (which is delicious), lemon grass balm, coconut oil, reusable straws or a reusable stainless steel bottle made in Koh Lanta in order to reduce plastic use
Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff, Amazing place
Cons: No easy access by public transportation

Vegan Thai Cooking Class - Edit
We stopped off on the side of the road by chance and stumbled upon Lanta Easy Life. Man and Fa are so sweet. Their place not only has an organic food garden, but also bungalows for people to stay at. We asked them if they could do a thai cooking class, and they happily accommodated for a reasonable price! My partner & I chose 6 dishes: sweet & sour, basil fried rice, pad thai, papaya salad, tom kah soup, and massaman curry. Every single dish was SO delicious, and it was so fun to see them pick ingredients out of the garden. Highly recommend the cooking class, or simply stopping in for a bite to eat! The massaman curry is the specialty.
