completely inaccessible

Recently went to a craft fair at St Augustines and the disability access is appalling. The access ramp is far too steep (it took myself and my mum to get my grandmother up it!) and there is at least a 1inch ledge between the ramp and the ground which caused us to almost tip my grandmother onto the floor. The top of the ramp is also completely inaccessible - there was hardly any space to get our wheelchair through the door and the railing on the ramp made it even harder to manoeuvre. (it was only on the way out that we realised the second door could be opened). It’s also worth noting that we had to reverse the wheelchair up the ramp as the smaller front wheels couldn’t get over the ledge. Once in the hall, there are absolutely no mobility aids in place for wheelchair users - two steps which meant my grandmother had to get out and walk (a privilege some wheelchair users don’t have) in order to see the whole craft fair. Where are the accessibility ramps?

I understand that this review is not directly about an experience at the cafe however due to the inaccessibility of St Augustine’s as a whole I shan’t be going there again. If you are wheelchair user, don’t bother going! The ‘access’ ramp isn’t accessible and if anything poses risk to all disabled persons. I urge that you please reassess ALL accessibility measures in place and take urgent access to change, improve and add them.

Cons: inaccessibility , lack of support from staff , spaces too narrow for a wheelchair

This is the first time I see vegan cafe to go omnivore 😭

We searched for a vegan cafe for breakfast, heard this used to be a great place, were shocked to find new menu (and perhaps new ownership) that’s not vegan anymore. We were explained that they will serve what community wants. Disappointed with coffee and food.

Pros: Attentive staff

Cons: Not vegan anymore , Mediocre food, Coffee not great

Wonderful vegan cafe in gorgeous location

I have now arranged a few vegan get togethers for up to 15 people at this lovely cafe. The food is interesting, fresh, beautifully served, reasonably priced and always delicious.

The building used to be a church and has now been beautifully restored. The venue is huge and, very importantly to me, dog friendly.

It is also fully accessible for disabled visitors and has several outdoor spaces, including a lovely lavender garden. The gardens are fully enclosed so your child - or dog! - cannot escape.

The staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for their customers. There is a very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.

Pros: Lovely vegan food, Extremely friendly staff, Beautiful surroundings

Vegan or not - Yum

Who cares if this is strictly vegan (it is), the food is mouth wateringly fresh and tasty! Daily specials supplement a fixed but delicious menu, all using fresh produce. It has only be re-open for the last month or so, but it is now a firm favourite for excellent breakfasts and midday snacks and meals... no evening meals, but no complaints yet and the locally sourced coffee is outstanding!

Friendliest Vegan Cafe in Brighton

Loved finding this cafe in a beautiful restored church with outside garden seating & indoor seating with art gallery and exhibition space, yoga, all with a wonderful atmosphere with super friendly staff. Great location away from the usual tourist areas and everything on the menu is Vegan! Spoilt for choice. Had an amazing freshly squeezed apple juice, green tea, scrambled tofu, with spinach and beans. Will be back again very soon.

Pros: Super friendly staff, Wonderful location and atmosphere, Amazing food and choice of teas and juices

Cons: None!
