Yummmm

It was a little pricy ($10.99/lb), but everything was so delicious. As mentioned, everything is labeled, and most of the food items are vegan. I also got a guava cheesecake. I enjoyed every bite. 😁

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: No scales to weigh items as you go, Pricy

Great selection!

Considering it’s based in Hawaii and organic the prices aren’t too bad!
Love that I can walk in there and buy vegan alternatives to everything and anything!
And love the buffet bar of hot food!

Amazing Hot Bar

Ate here several times during a week in Honolulu and loved it every time. The hot bar is loaded with tasty vegan items, and I ordered different burgers from the deli there. They were all amazing. Can’t go wrong here, it’s better than Whole Foods in terms of eating there.

Heaven

Delicious but expensive. Everything is labeled vegan or not. I got excited and fill my plate and ended up paying 30$ for my food and a 16oz drink. I’m a big eater but I didn’t even get full and I ate every bite. But that’s my only complaint is the the price. Service wasn’t the friendliest but they were busy. Definitely order off the menu if on a budget.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Delicious , Fresh

Cons: Expensive if you get the build your own plate

Great store and cafe

I stopped into this store when on vacation in May 2017 and I was so glad that I did! They have a huge variety of vegan options, including their little cafe with quite a large selection of foods. I went twice and had their buffet, they had curry the first time I went and I have to say it was one of the most flavorful and delicious curries I've ever had! It was the reason I went back the second time, but unfortunately they didn't serve it the next time I went. I was able to pick up lots of groceries to take back to the hotel and was very happy with this store!

Pros: Large buffet of delicious vegan options, Store with tons of vegan options

No dead bodies

A supermarket completely vegetarian. With normal stuff. This is paradise! The hot bar also had more than enough vegan options (came here 3 days in a row) and there was vegan pizza. Not so strong on the pre-packed side and salads not plenty.

Pros: All vegetarian, Seating inside, so you can pause shopping

I love this chain

It's not cheap, but it is high quality. It is simply my favorite place to shop for special groceries, and to get a meal in the buffet/bakery. There are so many vegan and gluten free options, so I know I can always go there and get a lunch or dinner that tastes so good, and also won't make me sick. The pizza is my favorite. They have ripe tropical fruit, and also every option you could possibly imagine for baking and even vegan junk food.

Pros: Huge selection and variety for baking, Vegan toiletries, Buffet/bakery and outdoor seating

Cons: Pricey

Its Vegan Paraadise, can I live here ? ?

I've been a customer of Down to Earth Hawaii for over 13 yrs. I've even taught cooking classes here occasionally as I used to be a vegan chef. Down to Earth is by far the best vegan/vegetarian eatery in Hawaii. Its also a vegetarian grocery store, but given our limited vegan restaurant options here, DTE hits the spot everytime. I esp. love their vegan-g-free pizza, curries on the hot bar, curry fried rice, fresh and organic salad bar ingredients, smoothies, deli sandwiches and overall vibe. The staff are always so friendly and lovely and the place is all vegetarian so you feel great giving them your money. I can't say enough great things about Down to Earth, I wish I could move into the store and live there sometimes😉

Pros: All vegetarian/vegan grocer and deli, Amazing buffet and salad bar, tons of local and organic products

Cons: nothing !

Down to Earth Organic and Natural - King Street

This location seemed more expensive than the other locations that I have visited so far. There is parking on the ground level if you can find it but additional parking is just up the ramp. The garage parking has a parking attendant that hands out tickets (make sure to get your ticket validated at check out and bring it back to the attendant). Nice location for students at UH and residents living near by. Down to Earth does have a reward card program - free to sign up. This location has a hot and and cold bar - $9.99/lb. There are also vegan pizza options, baked goods, a smoothie and sandwich bar, wellness area and a good sized produce section.

Pros: Vegan Items

Cons: Pricey

Great use of small space

The space may be compact but Down to Earth's Cafe has much to offer vegetarians and great vegan offerings. The hot bar has about a dozen offerings and several are always vegan, including variations on tofu. Good vegetables in both the hot bar and the excellent salad bar. And, the variety of vegan baked goods is stunning, including several kinds of cheesecake, apple pie, cookies (even carob), and others. There are also several soups available. At the cafe counter, there are a good variety of sandwiches and other dishes, including a great veg hot dog. The counter also offers excellent smoothies and a good variety of juices and coffee/tea drinks. The store also has sandwiches and other dishes ready for carry-out. There are a few outdoor tables and a small dining area upstairs. This is an excellent option for vegetarians/vegans and is well-located not far from the University of Hawaii-Manoa campus.

Pros: Very good hot bar, Excellent salad bar, Amazing vegan baked goods

Cons: Seating can be difficult when busy, Can be very crowded

I love this location!

(No longer live in Hawaii)
I didn't live close by to this location, but I loved visiting when I was.
It has different options than the one in Pearl City, but I always feel more 'in' with the cool vegans when I visit this one! haha!
It's just really cute.
I appreciate the parking as well.

Pros: awesome location, vegan!

Vegan heaven

I sound like the character Stefon from SNL, but, this place has everything.

Seriously amazed at the selection at this all Vegetarian Natural foods store and café. Most of the food available is vegan and it's all labeled. So many vegan baked goods too, which I always find is the hardest to find while travelling, especially in Honolulu. I don't know if it's always like this, but also all the soups in their buffet were vegan and they also have vegan cornbread!

Needless to say, I'm very impressed with this place and I will definitely frequent it.

Bonus:they have outdoor seating and free parking

Pros: great selection: huge vegan selection, super friendly staff, free parking at rear

Cons: I wish it were closer to where I stay :P

This place is seriously a vegans dream come true! Friendly service with amazing selection. They have a full vegetarian buffet style deli where you can scoop your own meals or order from their counter. Also has baked goods which they mark vegan if they are vegan. Full freezer, cruelty-free beauty, cereal, baking products, everything!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Delicious

Cons: Serves milk and eggs

Really convenient

There are numerous options for vegetarians and vegans here. There is a deli where you can get sandwiches, wraps etc. made - my husband got a rainforest sub which was very tasty. I got an avocado wrap - it was very nice but they put on way too much mustard. Another day we got some hot and cold food from the buffet - we got (all vegan) rice paper rolls, sushi, rice with veggies, potato cubes, coleslaw and some stir fry - all very tasty. We also bought some other items here such as cereal/energy bars and juice so it was really handy to get everything all in one place.

Pros: Good choice, good value

Cons: location a little far from hotel

Fresh food

Each day provided a discount of some sort. The menu was extensive with smoothies, vegetarian sandwiches/wraps, soups, acai berry items and the buffet offered tofu dishes and salad toppings. The options were endless. Parking was ample, and hours were sufficient for breakfast through dinner.

Pros: Variety, Value, Outdoor seating
