Good Vegan Options - Edit
I frequented this store in Maui so I was pleased to find one in Honolulu. Great vegan options with a sizeable salad bar and hot table

I wish we had these stores on the mainland! - Edit
Great selection. Decent prices (for the island). Lots of ready to eat meals that tasted better than some of the restaurants I’ve eaten at. Throughout my time, I had a few wraps, a couple of sandwiches and various groceries. I came here to eat more than any other restaurant on the island. It’s great! I wish we had these stores on the mainland (specifically Washington state).

Every town needs this place!! - Edit
We came in for late breakfast and “settled” for their hot bar selection of vegan lunch / dinner type foods: salad with veg toppings, lasagne, marinated tofu, alfredo, kale salad. $20 to fill a large container and well worth it. Food was absolutely fresh and delicious. We loved everything about this store! I say we “settled” as a joke because while I was hoping for breakfast, the shift to savory lunch time items was 100% worth it. Tables and chairs upstairs to sit at.

Amazing - Edit
This place is like heaven! Where I’m from we don’t have a vegan/vegetarian grocery store and deli. Deli options were delicious but the grocery items were expensive, even for Hawaii.

Big variety of food close to Waikiki - Edit
Wish I had known about this prior to our last day! There’s another location on happy cow that’s about a 20min drive outside Waikiki so we were only able to make the trip once. Has everything you need if you dont want to be spending tons of money on plant based (or any really) food while you vacation.

My local go-to! - Edit
Down to Earth has been my go-to for groceries, ethical home products (like reusable makeup rounds) and of course their deli menu! DTE supports local farmers and businesses so there are a lot of items you can buy that otherwise would only be found at the farmers markets here (Ma’o farms Sassy Salad anyone?) The hot/salad bar is absolutely fantastic and provides a wide variety of options, the labels are always clear distinguishing vegan vs vegetarian foods and the food is always fantastic! I love their salads, wraps, vegan cheeses (miyokos!) and their ready to cook options! You can buy bulk products such as fresh peanut butter, nutritional yeast and trail mixes alongside reputable vegan vegetarian brand foods like Morning Star chick’n and Alter Eco chocolate!
Read moreTheres also a variety of vegan Hawaiian foods they offer on rotation such as “spam” musubi and other foods I often see but can’t enjoy usually! Their smoothies and acai bowls are fantastic and the staff is always friendly!
The mock chicken is such a tasty treat and they’ve recently added coconut to the mock chicken curry wrap which I love!
Pros: Variety of foods, Hot/Salad Bar, Staff Friendliness

SO many vegan options! - Edit
Came here for an early morning vegan breakfast and ended up leaving with a bunch of yummy food. The hot food deli only has a couple vegan breakfast options, but they were good. There were a ton of non-breakfast hot food items though, and they were delicious. I was also impressed by the selection of baked goods, packaged foods, and grocery selection. I definitely suggest coming here to stock up on snacks and goodies.

The prepared food is the star - Edit
The buffet has soooo many vegan options and they're all really good. It can get pricey fast but it's worth it. The groceries also have tons of options but they can also be pricey as well.

Most of the items in the hot/salad bar and bakery are vegan at this location. Unfortunately, all of the baked goods are individually wrapped in plastic.

Wish we had this type of grocery store at home! Also the buffet is loaded with vegan options with desserts too. They have a nice sitting area upstairs where they also offer free water sourced from the mountains of Hawai’i. Will definitely be back!

Such choice! - Edit
I went with another vegan and there was so much available! Had food outside and also took some back to the apartment. Met someone else who'd bought food there. It was a popular place and seemed to be used by locals as well as tourists

Amazing vegan options! - Edit
Really yummy vegan options in the hot food self serve buffet, priced by weight of your container. Fridges with lots of vegan baked sweets cakes/donuts/banana bread. Lots of general health food items, beauty products and fresh produce. Felt like vegan heaven for groceries and dinner! Can also order items such as burgers and sandwiches and smoothies. Sad we discovered it last night of our trip!

Ate almost every day through Uber eats - Edit
The delivery through Uber eats was lightning fast and the food arrived still piping hot somehow. Everything we ordered was just incredible. The value burgers are the sleeper on the menu. Every bit as good as a full on expensive burger. The rice tofu wrapped in seaweed is also great. The donuts are great. The açai bowl is great. Everything is great. Wish we had one of these back home in Florida. We have things almost as good, but not quite as good as this place.!

Wholesome meals - Edit
Loved the food. Large choice of vegan food from the buffet. Everything I tried (from vegan lasagna to different kinds of tofu and veggies) was extremely tasty. The ingredients are fresh and wholesome. A fantastic find, especially if you are tired of restaurants. The grocery store is awesome, with a marvelous variety of vegan products. Vegan treats from bakery are delicious (vegan doughnuts). The place could be cleaner.

All things Vegetarian/vegan - Edit
Just like all other Down to Earth stores, simply amazing. From vegan prepped food to desserts, superb joint.
Read moreOne thing to keep in mind is that their restrooms are closed during COVID, you’d need to borrow keys from cashier counter#1 to use the ones on third floor. Also, it’s on a one-way street. I witnessed someone drove the opposite direction right into a cop car. 🙃
Cons: No restroom in store, Driving was a little tricky

Down to Earth - Edit
This is the best vegetarian / vegan grocery store and deli on Earth. I stop by this store every time I'm in Oahu or Maui to stock up on vegan goodness and to pick up several items on their hot bar. I also love how they've posted a sign in their outdoor eating area that states "vegetarian food only please"...I feel at home here!
Read moreRecently I got a nice salad, some hot vegan mac and cheese (which was excellent!), vegan mac salad (delicious), vegan potatoes salad (yum), among other things. I also got a vegan mango cheese cake (should have gone with blueberry but it was still good) and a macadamia nut chew (also tasty). Overall, this place has an excellent hot bar and a great selection of vegan items. I will be back time and time again.
All their locations are great...they have other locations on other Hawaiian islands, don't miss them!
(PS- This deli is located in the grocery store, not sure why the listing is split in two...but just saying to ease confusion.)

Great to have so many vegan options. However the service at the deli isn’t the best. They tried to give me the wrong sandwich twice and it didn’t seem like the woman helping me spoke English or understood what was going on

The best buffet selection in Honolulu! - Edit
My partner and I went here every night after discovering this place.
Read moreThey have clearly marked vegan desserts, as for the buffet, there's a wide selection and honestly, 80% was clearly marked as being vegan. It really caters for a lot of people with different food preferences.
It was hard to not pile EVERYTHING onto our tray/ plate - you'd be spoilt for choice.
Only managed to buy a slice of chocolate cake as they were a little pricey - it tasted so satisfying. Again, lots to choose from.
The pizza was good - but I'd say stick with the buffet.
Love the company's ethics as any left over food at the buffet goes towards the homeless.
Really great job guys.
We willfully happily walked to get to you every night knowing that good food was going into our tummies :)

Good Food, But Oily - Edit
I love the food here, but I really wish they didn’t use oil in most of the dishes. I guess this is the trade-off commercial places make to sell vegan fare. The cold salad section is good and you can add whatever ingredients you like. Lots of options in there.
