Amazing tea!

If I lived closer, I would go back here at least twice a week. The employees are very knowledgeable on tea and it's such a cozy spot. The masala chai is the best I've had from any shop, and I tried the maple walnut cheesecake, and the flavors were incredible, very sweet and mapley without being too sweet!
My boyfriend got a yerba mate that was smoky and rich. I'd suggest this shop in a heartbeat!

My zen spot

I can’t come to Burlington without a visit to Dobra Tea. Whether with a group or on my own it’s always peaceful and delicious. A truly special place. The vegan/gf food options are abundant and amazing.

Comfiest Spot In Burlington

Super Comfy, Expensive ($$) & Inconsistent Service

Dobra Tea is the not-so hidden gem of Burlington. In the wintertime it becomes a safe haven for cold students looking for some warm tea to drink and a soft cushion to sit upon. While the tea and snacks are delicious, it’s not the food which makes this place so popular. It’s the ambiance.

I recommend the morrocan mint tea, a lovely minty drink with some sweetness that can be ordered in a tribal pot to share (menu says 6 people, I say 3 max). Also, if you’re vegan & gluten-free (or just love donuts) you HAVE to try the maple donuts - they come from a local bakery & cafe called Sweet Alchemy.

While I have a deep love for Dobra, and many of the staff who have worked there, there are a few times that I have been deeply disappointed. Each time has been when the owner was working on the floor. I always get the impression from them that they truly do no give a [censored] about the people who come through. Dobra is so popular that the management do not care about any one person or group (I’m sure this causes many individuals to flee and never return) for example, I came on a busy night and waited in a short line before asking for a table for 3 and instead of getting an approximate wait time, I was told (by the owner) to stand inside by the door and that whoever was closest when the next table/platform was clear could sit down. This made me and the others look to each other in disbelief and we all felt quite uncomfortable. Eventually several people left and within 45 mins my group sat down. Yes, this was my experience once and I still adore Dobra, but I would advise you to steer clear of the busiest times if possible (Thursday/Friday/Sat nights in Winter) & try to spend a couple hours with a small group on one of the cushioned platforms. If you follow these precautions I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time!

I would also like to take this opportunity to urge Dobra to please be more aware of professionalism during busy times.

Pros: Cozy & Warm, Large Selection

Cons: Expensive!! , Busy , Small Portions

Great spot

Really quaint, chill tea house with a ton of vegan munchie options. Enjoyed our tea in a nice sitting area that was very mellow. We had the Mochi and the cookie bottom brownie which were both great. The service is quick (use your tea bell) and the folks are nice.

Pros: Nice environment, Good vegan goodies , Delicious tea

Great tea and fine service

Awesome tea! Good snacks like dolmas and truffles. Service is great in Winooski location and is good in Burlington. Winooski location is quiet and calm while burlington is more bustling. Go!

Dobra Tea

Went in on Sunday night at around 8:45pm. We were not served stating last call has already been made. Hours on the website show store closes at 10pm. We were making a long journey from Canada and still had another 4 hours to drive. This was one of the only places I can eat at and despite telling the waiter we were turned down. Really rude staff. Will not visit again.

Desserts and teas are stellar...dumplings...not so much!

I absolutely LOVED the vegan cheesecake, along with the amazing teas I got to try. But the Chinese Dumplings were pretty gross. The shell was made of a super thick and gritty dough that was like semi-raw pie crust except with sand-like chickpea flour as the base. You get two of them but I couldn't even finish the second one. I had to drink so much liquid to get the thick dough to go down! My friend had the red lentil daal and said it was the best she has ever had and couldn't stop talking about it. Overall, this place is so great!!! I just wish I had ordered a different meal for the lunch part! The cheesecake, which is $6.50 for a 3 inch cake was worth every penny...so buttery and smooth. It's exactly how I remember dairy cheesecake!

Pros: amazing vegan dessert options, awesome staff and overall vibe, so many teas to choose from!

Cons: the dumplings, small portions

Such a relaxing place

As a vegan who also cannot eat gluten this is my favorite place ever. The pitas are vegan and gluten free and only like 2 of their dishes are not vegan. Plus! They contribute to causes to keep war out of tea producing regions. They also work to keep work conditions for all of their sources humain.

More than tea

Dobra Tea is primarily a tea house, but their lunches are fine as well. They offer pita with various spreads and other items. We had pita with ezme (Turkish roasted red pepper) and hummus, and edamane. For dessert we had halvah, daifuku mochi, and a chocolate truffle. The food was good. You can get a filling lunch here. Local suppliers are used. The varieties of teas carried are amazing. A demonstration of tea preparation is helpful.

Pros: good for lunch too, serene dining

A good place to catch up with friends

Dobra has a wide selection of hot teas (they hand you what looks like a tea textbook, you ring a bell when you're ready to order), and some iced teas as well. You can also purchase dry tea here They have several light food options - many are vegan, some are gluten-free. I love the Mezze plate with ezme, dolmas and olives. It is a little pricy for food. Try to sit in one of the beaded off floor rooms - they are more comfy than the little tables. Always pretty dark, interesting music. The tea makes this place smell great. This is a good place to go to catch up with a friend.

Pros: extensive tea menu, fresh and tasty light fare

Cons: pricey, I'm not a fan of the bell, dim, cramped
