Dishapointed

I had been looking forward to trying Dishoom after hearing such good things. I’d planned what I was going to have from the decent looking vegan menu. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the kebab/pineapple dish wasn’t on the menu.

Instead I had the Bhel which was pretty good, though could have done with a bit more crunch. The vada pau was very good, spicy potato and a well flavoured masala in a bun.

Nothing blew me away but hopefully when I get to taste the Chaap pineapple tikka, that will change.

Cons: Pricey, Not all their vegan dishes available everywhere.

Dishoom

I have eaten at this location a number of times. The first time I made the mistake of scheduling a small business dinner here...while it is a nicely decorated restaurant, it was so loud that it was difficult to have conversations with my clients. That said, this is great for dates and meals with friends.

People really love, or are really disappointed by, Dishoom. I think there's a bit of level-setting as to what you can expect here. Firstly, Dishoom is not a typical Indian restaurant, so if you're having a craving for your favorite Indian dish you can find at almost any Indian restaurant, check Dishoom's menu first! Dishoom offer elevated, creative, and sometimes unique dishes and it seems they continue to add more vegan options (e.g., they recently added mango lassi and naan). The black daal made vegan is delicious, as is the gunpowder potatoes dish. Samosas are a great option too. You'll also find many dishes at Dishoom that you likely will not find at other Indian restaurants. It's a great experience and a good place to have a meal at a nice restaurant.

Overall: 3.5

More hype than flavor

Decent selection of vegan items, but no vegan naan.

Great food

We went there with friends in June 2017. We were 2 vegetarians and 2 omni and everyone enjoyed their dish. The food was pretty and full of flavors.

Authentic cuisine from Bombay

Lovely vegan options and went with a friend who is familiar with this cuisine and said it was extremely authentic. Unfortunately a long queue to get in (1 hour for us) and can’t reserve a table if you have a party of less than 6 people

Incredible vegan options and constantly evolving and improving.

My favourite vegan food in london. Cooked Breakfast in particular is unbeatable, even in the best vegan only restaurants

Great food!

Had a lovely lunch at Dishoom with a handful of fantastic dishes! The curry was absolutely divine. The salads were great but could've had just a touch of extra seasoning.

This is the second time I have been to Dishoom (first time was before being vegan), and I have to say the service there and the staff are honestly top-notch!

The vegan menu was relatively small but still had a lot of fantastic options. It would have been nice to see more than just one curry option, though technically there's two but it's the same curry but one with rice and the other with bread. Saying this, the curry was spectacular!

The price is a bit on the higher side but still relatively reasonable.

Overall, very satisifed with my experience at Dishoom.

Pros: Friendly staff, Great food, Nice venue

Cons: Relatively small menu

TOP NOTCH DELICIOUS

I wasn’t able to give this place 5 stars because Happy Cow would not let me, but I’ll say it...THEY DESERVE 10. The presentation of everything, the atmosphere, the customer service, everything was AMAZING! I loved every minute of it! If you are ever in London, you don’t want to miss this!!

Pros: Vegan options are delicious portions are fair!, Customer service was excellent, Decor was rich!!

Didn’t like it! Not a lot of options

Not many vegan options at all! The only vegan and gluten free options for main were a REALLY spicy dish or potatoes. Not great at all!

Fantastic food

Great vegan breakfast and other range of vegetarian options. Service when we were there couldn’t be faulted despite being very busy. Great feel to the place, nice decor bright on main floor but we were on lower basement floor which had cosy nice feel to it. All in all would highly recommend if near Covent Garden and looking for vegan breakfast

Pros: Great vegan breakfast , Other veggie options , Great feel and service

Do not eat here!

After ordering from their VEGAN menu and going over my order countless times with the waiter to ensure it was vegan, I was served food covered in butter. I did not realise this however until I’d already begun eating the food. There was a mix up with our tables food order and we received another tables order that just happened to have the same food as us. It was only when our waiter came back with “our” food, and allergen labels on the items I had ordered that I realised I’d already eaten animal products. Very gutted and sad. If you do end up eating here, please make sure your food has the ALLERGEN signs on it to make sure this mistake doesn’t happen to you as it did to me. The manager did apologise but for me, it was too little too late. Thankfully i don’t have an allergy as this could have been a whole other issue...

Pros: A vegan menu

Cons: Waiters are up un knowledgable of allergens, Lack of kitchen care when handling vegan orders, Disappointing service
