Best vegan meal I’ve ever had!!

I got the vegan Omesaki and it was the best meal ever, I’m not exaggerating. Full of local mushrooms cooked to perfection and protein including the most immaculate eggplant. I don’t even like eggplant and this dish was unstoppable. Cute and sweet staff and a BEAUTIFUL dining room! Such a vibe. Worth every penny.

Pros: Local produce, Aesthetic , Considerate staff

Absolutely Delicious Food!!!

My friend invited me to go with her & a few others to this restaurant because she had reservations. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was so pleased! They first asked us if anyone had any dietary restrictions & I told them I was vegan. From then on, since we all got the fixed menu option, they made sure to give me the vegan version of what everyone else got & everyone was so kind!!! The food was absolutely delicious, I cannot express how amazing it was. From a miso broth to veggies, sauces, cooked okra & eggplant, to ramen at the end, it was all soooooo freaking good!!! The whole experience was great, the staff was super accommodating & nice, & the food, again, was perfect.
I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to try it. It is super expensive, but it’s worth it!!!

Pros: AMAZING food , super kind staff, awesome experience

Cons: expensive, hard to get reservations

Dip Dip Dip!

I had been trying for months to get a reservation at DDDT and I finally got an early one on a Monday in November before Thanksgiving.

It was so much fun! You cook all of your veggies, tofu, and mushrooms in an iron pot.
There are 3 veg broth options: konbu dashi (kelp broth), miso smokey (miso with chipotle), tonyo nabe (soymilk). It’s not communal because each person has their own pot, but you share the experience in an intimate setting. It’s truly beautiful in there and the service is fantastic. The menu is a little confusing trying to find all the vegan options so just ask your server. They gave us all the vegan options to choose from. Try the silky tofu, fresh yuba, and of course the mushrooms. The savory sesame gomare dip is so delicious. They offer shime (finishing course) of different kinds of house-made noodles.

It is quite pricey though! I’m not new to the experience because I ate nabe, hot pot, and sukiyaki as a kid living in Japan, but it was fun to try Austin's version.
