Reliably good… - Edit
I used to go to the original location in Arcadia years ago for their soup dumplings before I became vegan. I’m glad that their menu now includes multiple vegan options which are properly labeled accordingly. I recommend the vegan spicy wontons and the red bean dumplings for dessert. Of course, there are plenty of stir fried vegetable dishes to choose from. It’s just so good.

Tried the vegan spicy noodle, vegan bao buns, and vegan dumplings. The bao buns were a 5/5, the noodles were a 4.5/5, and the dumplings were a 3.5. It was all really good and we’ll be coming back again soon.

Amazing every time! - Edit
I’ve been to almost every DTF and savor the experience. The wood ear mushroom appetizer and the Shanghai rice cakes are my favorites but there’s a lot of options to try.

Many great options to have a diverse meal! - Edit
Ordered: vegan wonton soup, vegan dumplings, vegan bao, vegan spicy noodles, green beans and garlic, taro xiaolongbao.
Read moreStaff was plentiful and friendly, there was an hour long wait for a table for two since we didn’t make a reservation and maybe because it is the beginning of the lunar new year tomorrow. The wonton soup was great, enjoyed the broth as well, I added chili oil and vinegar to it. The vegan dumplings were nice but I had wanted a potsticker style so it was softer than I was looking for but good to eat. The vegan bao was good, my moms favorite. The vegan spicy noodles were so good I ordered more to go. The green beans were excellent, perfectly cooked so they had enough of a crunch and the flavor was nice. The tarp xiaolongbao were excellent if you like taro which tastes a bit like sweet potato. Was a wonderful meal to share. I have been to many of their locations around the world but it had been years and this was my first time as a vegan, will be back again!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great staff
Cons: Long wait time with no reservation

This place is so good for vegan options! I always get the spicy vegan noodles and vegan buns. So so good! I also get the cucumber salad which is a fresh and healthy treat. The food is so good and they always package the food perfectly, complete with all the sauces and extras you would need.

Best Dumplings Ever!!! - Edit
I met up with a friend for lunch, he is not vegan, but interested. So I was super happy to have him help me navigate the menu and me get to help him try more of the vegan options.
Read moreI am just going to say that the service staff is amazing! They were so through about everything ensuring that our order is correct before leaving the table and verified all was vegan. So helpful with suggestions and even poured my soy sauce, vinegar mixture over the ginger to show me the ratios that they recommend. Service was excellent from beginning through end.
The food OMG the food!!!! We started with a simple cold cucumber dish with sesame oil and soy sauce, it was very mild I would not say spicy at all, it is described as a hint of spice, totally accurate. This was refreshing and a perfect appetizer. Next we were served the sauteed spinach, this was not the highlight of my life, but was really good and perfectly cooked to make it easily digestible but still retain the integrity of the leaf. The dumplings came next, and I have never had dumplings this delicious before. The filling was filling, flavorful and the mushroom combination with jicama and other veggies made it hearty and filling. Final item we enjoyed was the sesame noodles, so good.
Next time I save room for desert!!!
Funny story as i wrote this a customer of mine called and I mentioned how I took executive lunch yesterday he asked where I went. He and his wife are huge fans of Din Tai and he is making a reservation for next week.

Awesome selection! - Edit
When I was first asked to go I was a little skeptical because I wasn't sure if they had any vegan options. On their new menu, they have all the vegan options labeled and let me tell you, there are a bunch! From dumplings, to buns even dessert (most of their desserts are vegan!!) I was not disappointed! The good was fresh, light and delicious! It was a great experience and I can't wait to go back!

Mostly Vegetarian some Vegan Options - Edit
Mushroom fried rice is AMAZING! Veggie Dumplings are very good as well. Don't dismiss the greens sides... They might possibly be some of the best greens I've tasted. The green beans are a must, broccoli is perfectly cooked with delicately sliced garlic. The spinach is a substantial portion and can make you teeth a bit squeaky. Remember, these sides are for sharing. If you're a vegan, double check to make sure the items you are getting are vegan. The green leaf on the menu indicates vegetarian, that can include egg. The veggie soup I tried was a little bland, so make sure to use the chili and soy sauces on the table for flavor. They also bring out delicious finely shaved ginger to go with the sauce. Waiters are SUPER FRIENDLY and honest about what is vegan/vegetarian when you ask and let them know it's your first time. Oh, yes... There is usually a 2-3 hour wait to get in during rush hours. You can sneak a seat in the bar area for less time if you're starving. I usually arrive an hour early and shop around at the mall with friends until I receive a text from them. By the way, this is a Taiwanese restaurant, not Chinese.

Limited Options - Edit
This restaurant has a green leaf logo to pinpoint the vegetarian (not specifically vegan) options). The dumplings, even the veggie ones, are not vegan, nor are the buns (I called). You are relatively safe with the items in the Greens section of the menu, so you'll basically be ordering a bunch of veggie side dishes in various sauces. Of course, always double check to ensure no animal products are used.
