Vegans don't bother unless desperate - Edit
We got 2 vegatable / vegan pasties. the pastry was nice, but the filling was very undewhelming, tasteless with raw chucks of carrot, pretty grim. Perhaps chuck some onion and garlic powder in there or some salt.

Disappointing - Edit
I was really hoping this would be better despite the reviews. There was a vegan pie and pastie on the menu. The cafe attached to the bakery also had a porridge with a vegan option.
Read moreI had the pastie and the pastry was quite good but the filling was bland and tasteless with undercooked chunks of carrot.
Pros: They had vegan options
Cons: Bland and tasteless , Dry filling

Pie and Pastie - Edit
Great to see two vegan options at the award winning bakery in Denmark. A vegetable pastie, and also a pie. The pastie was lovely, not greasy, light and flaky pastry. Friendly service. Will have to go back and try the pie. Couldn't give it 5 stars as they also serve meat.
Read more**update** Went back to get a pie and pastie 4 years on but sadly the pastie wasn't as good as we remembered. Both the pastie and the pie seemed to be full of mash potato with veg rather than a sauce so they were a bit dry and bland this time.

Dry & underwhelming - Edit
I have been coming to Denmark for years, and have loved the vegan options. Sadly they seem to be diminishing. I had the vegan pasty today and it was really dry inside. A paste like blandness, with peas, sweetcorn and a few pieces of pumpkin. Very disappointing. Maybe has changed hands. I asked what was different about the pie and pasty filling, and were told they’re the same. I’m glad I didn’t waste extra money going for the pie version. Really shocking how rubbish it was.

Dry and substandard but it may be all you can get - Edit
Denmark used to be a haven for veggies and vegans. It was a hippy town. Not sure what’s happened, but now it feels like tat vibe has gone. So where do you get veg or vegan food? Almost nowhere. The only options are really unhealthy.
Read moreSo the bakery gets two stars for being one of the only places you can eat. But the pastie was dry and didn’t taste much better than soup. Really dry pastry. I think the place must have changed owners. It used to be so good, but now you only go because you’ll be hungry otherwise.
Pros: It has some vegan food.,
Cons: Dry pastry., Too busy and small

Pie and Pastie - Edit
Very busy. Pie and pastie ok but not great. Very dry and thick pastry. Good to have an option though. 2 bakeries on the same street so make sure you go to the right one.

Two vegan options - Edit
They have a vegan pastie and a vegan pie. They both have the same filling and they're average, but the pastie is a little bit better than the pie.

Delicious Vegan Options - Edit
Lunch at the Denmark Bakery Cafe today was delightful. They have a number of vegan options including a pie, pastie, burger, sandwiches, vegan breakfast and the all day vegan delight plate. We have eaten here a few times. The food and soy flat whites are always good. They now have vegan bliss balls and raw slices/cakes. Today we had the vegan delight plate with pumpkin hummus (with a little spicy kick), mushrooms, quinoa salad and toast. It was delicious, so was the berry bliss ball with our coffees. This cafe is a lovely little hidden gem in Denmark, on a nice day you can sit outside under the giant fig tree. Excellent service, friendly staff.
