2024.3.30 lunch - Edit

Chinese vegan buffet - Edit
One of the many vegan Buddhist all you can eat buffets across China. There isn't too many in the Huizhou and this is maybe the main one in the main city centre.
Read moreAt ¥32 it is a bit pricier than average, though Mondays are (almost always) ¥18. They sometimes give out 8rmb off vouchers for your next visit.
It should be easy to find - there's a (small) English sign on the entrance of the building. Go up the stairs, turn right and buy a voucher in the shop which you then hand in at the buffet 50 metres to your right. They don't speak any English but if you say "wo yao chi fan" (I want to eat some food) they should understand.
Like most of these buffets they're normally busy at lunchtime but I did find a seat OK. They also tend to be low on food near the end of service, but given the many options here you should still have plenty of choice if you come a little late.
The shop also now has small freezer with a few products from the "whole perfect food" range. I've only had the burgers which are nice but a pain to seperate (they're all frozen together)
Pros: Includes shop with vegan beef Jerky

Really good Chinese veg restaurant - Edit
This is a Buddhist veggie restaurant so no meat is served but some things do contain eggs. The buffet was only 32 元 for all you can eat including desert which is rare at Chinese restaurants. It was delicious! Despite living here I find most Chinese food bland or just all the same. The rice and potatoes were wonderful. The eggplant green beans and asparagus all amazing. The only downside is no one speaks English so it’s hard to verify what food may contain egg. Oh also a little Buddhist and vegetarian bulk store up front. Bought vegan jerky! First time to see it in china.

Cons: Not vegan some items may have egg , Didn’t open for dinner until 5:30 later than site.
