GO HERE

This restaurant is exactly what you pray it is - amazing French vegan food. Honestly, it was so hard to pick what to get. The waiter suggested Escargot and Coq Au Vin. Of course, he said he could only one favorite. It has been so long since I had proper French food. I could have cried. Come here!! 🥹❤️

OMFG

First off this place is TINY! It was adorable but probably the tiniest restaurant I’ve ever dined in so it was a little cramped. The food was AMAZING. When I’m in the city I normally dine at Candle or Blossom but this place has literally stolen my heart. The WORST part about this place was they were out of the Brei and so I couldn’t try it and it broke my heart. But I’ll get it next time!! I had the cheese plate (blue green cheese was my fav) and froi gras (so good) and then for dinner steak tar tar, duck seitan, chicken leg stew and scallops. Dessert we had two different crepes, chocolate cake and mousse. The only thing I wasn’t too impressed with was the crepes, they seemed a little too thick like a wrap consistency almost but that does not at all affect my general opinion of this place. This was definitely one of the best places I’ve been to and it should be a necessity to dine here.

Pros: Life changing , CHEESE, Adorable setting

Cons: Tiny bit cramped but not really an issue

Authentic French

The Coq au Vin and the Bœuf Bourguignon were amazing. The sauce, simmered for 18 hours, was as good as any Michelin star restaurant in Provence I've ever tasted. The "chicken" drumstick, made from pea protein, texture was perfect, and even had a bamboo shoot "bone" in the middle. Worth every penny.
Tip: If you want bread (to soak up the fabulous sauce), you'll have to ask for it.

Pros: Authentic French

Rare Treat

Dining at Delice & Sarrasin was a great experience. It was fantastic to get the chance to eat at an all vegan French restaurant, and the food was excellent. My husband and I had the foie gras (tahini based) with fig jam and bread as an appetizer, the coq au vin, and the aiguilette de canard dishes. To top it off, we had the orange creme brulee.
The dishes were all excellent. I have had basically no authentic French food to compare it with, but we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The creme brulee especially was amazing. It's one of the best things I have ever tasted.
The meal was expensive, so if I lived in NYC it would be a special treat out, but I definitely hope to come back someday. I would really like to try brunch, as the wide selection of crepes look pretty amazing.
The place is very small and I highly suggest making reservations. The service was good.

Pros: 100% vegan French food, Creme brulee!, Crepes!

to die for

The coq au vin is literally the best vegan dish I've ever had in my life, the atmosphere is adorable, and the young man running the restaurant was extremely friendly. I can't wait to go back.

Hands down the best vegan restaurant I've ever tried

I can't recommend this place enough! I visited in May 2017 and forgot to review until now.

Firstly the staff here are very friendly. If you have questions they will happily oblige (I asked them about any vegan French cuisine book recommendations, apparently traditional French cuisine done vegan is very rare, and this is one of the only places in the world - if not the only place - where you can try these foods made cruelty free!)

The atmosphere is very cozy and sweet. I visited 3 times during my trip to New York, and though I tried to be there are times that were not busy, I noticed both people dining solo or meeting up with friends - very flexible depending on if you want a quiet night out, or hang out with people and eat great food.

The food: out of this world!! I tried both the Boeuf Bourguignon (rich and complex flavours, you can tell a lot of time and effort was put into making it first class) and Steak Tartare (again, very flavourful and perfect cooling but filling dish on a hot summer evening.) I also had a breakfast crepe the day before I left which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Although it was hard to choose a favourite food that I enjoyed there, their lavender rice pudding was so good I almost cried. It was so fragrant that I felt like I was standing in the middle of a lavender field! I've tried to recreate it, but I can't get it quite right.

Definitely don't miss this place, in a city filled with great vegan options it is in a class above the rest.

Pros: Best restaurant I've ever tried!, Classy, but welcoming and cozy atmosphere, Friendly staff

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Just incredible

Went here for a celebratory dinner... it is just mind-blowingly good! Honestly some of the best food I have ever eaten. We shared the 'snails' to start: sizzling and garlicky and delicious. Then I had the 'coq au vin', which our (distractingly handsome) waiter told us had been slow-cooked for 12 hours for unbelievable depth of flavour and tenderness. The vegan champagne and crème brûlée were also delicious, and the ambience was perfect - deeply romantic, and cosy without being cramped. Expensive but worth it.

Simply Great!

Don't know where to start ... The food is melting in your mouth and you are literally waiting for their food to come out to see what they created ! Their cheese plate melts in your mouth and we ordered two of them ! Service , food and atmosphere, everything was great ! It is a bit small but hopefully they will be expanding and adding seats in the future !

Incredible food

I was in this restaurant with my husband last month on our New York vacation. It's one of the best vegan restaurants I've been to in the world. Exquisite food, fantastic staff and quiet and relaxing space. I ate Coq au Vine: Delicius!
When I return to New York I will definitely go to Dèlice & Sarrasin.

Pros: Food, Location, Attention

Amazing and authentic.

This is certainly my new favorite restaurant of all time. The food is creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor, while being entirely vegan and feeling like a true French experience. We tried crepes, coq au vin, creme brulee, cheese, cake, and more, and I still don't think we've even gotten close to exploring the menu.

All the food was delicious, rich, and unique to this restaurant. The coq au vin had a "chicken leg" that was the most unique, yet tasty, "chicken" I've tried (complete with a skewer as the "bone", which is a first for me), and from overhearing conversations of the servers, it is apparently cooked with just as much investment as the non-vegan equivalent. They take no shortcuts or premade ways out, and it shows in the rich flavors and unique interpretation of classic french dishes. The servers we saw on our visits were both knowledgeable about the dishes and French cuisine (and spoke French to each other when not interacting with customers, so it really does feel like they've brought a little part of France to NYC).

The desserts were as decadent as I would expect. The creme brulee is my personal favorite. I'll have to get it every time I visit the city.

Things to be aware of when you visit: the restaurant is very, very small with limited seating. We never had an issue with seating for the two of us, but a larger group should make reservations. Additionally, since the restaurant is small, tables are quite close together. Don't expect to have intimate personal conversations that you don't want others to overhear, and unfortunately if you get a raucous table at the same time, it can be a little overwhelming. The kitchen also closes earlier than closing time (the time differs depending on the night), but they do offer desserts and coffee until closing, so if you plan on a full meal, get there well before closing hours (although I think that's a fair request anyway).

The whole experience is really a very unique blend of the Greenwich Village location and French dining, so it's well worth a trip to enjoy!

Pros: insanely good food, friendly and interactive staff, feels like a very authentic french experience

Cons: can be crowded/noisy, reservations are almost a must

WOW

Unique, flavorful options and so many things to choose from. I had the "chicken legs" (I hate that it's called that but it really does look and taste like it...) and it was fantastic. I overdid it and got dessert but it was worth it. Will definitely return again and again.

Pros: Great menu, High Quality

Cons: Pricey (but it can be justified)

A Must Try!

Delice & Sarrasin is an adorable little vegan French restaurant in a cute neighborhood. The food is definitely authentic French but totally veganized. You can tell everything is made from scratch and it's totally delicious! The food we had was well priced with good portions and amazing flavor. Of course we had to end our meal with a dessert crepe, which was mind blowing! We are definitely going to come back and bring friends and family!

Fantastique!

Six friends joined me for dinner at Délice & Sarrasin, so we were able to taste many of the offerings. We shared the fois gras, cheese plate, carrot and red lentil purée, and escargots for starters. The first two were incredible, the carrots were really good, but I couldn't stop thinking about snails while I tried the mushroom escargots. Warm bread was delicious. One friend and I shared the cassoulet and the steak frites. The sausage and duck in the cassoulet were excellent. The steak was definitely the star, and the truffle fries were a perfect accompaniment. I tasted a gallette with cheeses and chicken, which I thought was okay. Everyone was very happy with their order. For dessert I shared the chocolate mousse and the caramel & apple crêpe with ice cream. The mousse was incredible, and the crêpe was decent (ice cream was yummy!). The bill, with tip, came to $50 per person, with one person having one glass of wine. We all thought it well worth it. FYI, reservations are strongly recommended.

Pros: Delicious food, Lovely staff

Cons: Cramped seating

Tasty and Charming

You should totally go. The Steak Frite and Apple - caramel crepes were really outstanding. The foie gras and Boeuf Bourguignon were also quite good. The wine and coffee were also excellent. This is a wonderful idea to veganize classic French Cuisine - let's support them!

Pros: Great Service, Good portion sizes, clever veganization of meat and cheese ingredients

Cons: none

It's delicious!

I immediately jumped at the chance to eat at an all-vegan French restaurant, because I avoid French food normally.

Many of the dishes here have vegan meat, cheese, or fish, instead of being veggie-forward. I think they make all the meats/cheese/fish in-house.

I had the fois gras and a savory crepe (with smoked salmon, cheese, and avocado mash). They were both delicious. Also had a soy cappuccino, which seemed more like a cafe au lait. Would definitely come back.

Cons: $$$$

Un Delice !!

Lovely place, intimate atmosphere, friendly waiters and delicious cuisine. I came here with my boyfriend and we were warmly welcomed by the staff, all french. Traditional homemade french cuisine cooked the vegan way. We had a lovely evening, a little french island in the heart of manhattan. Can't wait to go back.

Pros: delicious , intimate and friendly ,

Perfect French restaurant

Basically, you're transported to France the moment you step through the door. The food is magnificent and I applaud the family/owners that turned this place into a 100% vegan destination! Everything, from the service to food, is exquisite. My favorite dishes thus far include the Coquilles St. Jacques, Escargot, Foie Gras, and Plateau De Fromage. The sweet crepes are also a perfect ending to the meal. My husband is also obsessed with the French cider, which unlike American cider, just lightly sweet and refreshing. In my opinion, Delice & Sarrasin is one of the best vegan spots in NYC.

Pros: Gluten free options

We only had dessert here. We tried several sweet crepes, and they were are fabulous. Ours had melted dark chocolate and whipped cream, and roasted bananas, roasted almond or roasted pear. The restaurant is small and very pleasant. Service was great.

WOW!

The creativity and flavor of the dishes are incredible and took me by complete surprise. I love French food and just started to dabble in the world of vegetarian. This place blew me away. Their take on foi gras, beef bourguignon, and coq au vin made me a true believer that all you need is a talented Chef to create a dining experience where the food makes love to your mouth that is yummy to the tummy. Highly recommended!

Pros: The flavor, spices and presentation is authentic c
