Amazing Food! - Edit
We came to Deer Mama around 4pm for a snack/light lunch. We were all impressed by their extensive menu and sweet treats. My brother, dad, and I shared their Carrot Lox Club and Tofu Banh Mi Sandwiches. My mom had their Kiddie Stack of pink pancakes.
Read moreBoth sandwiches were super flavorful! I loved the Carrot Lox because it was crisp, fresh, and that dill-horseradish mayo was everything! My brother and dad liked the Banh Mi more. It was delicious as well. The kimchi and sesame mayo were awesome. My mom’s Pink Pancakes were super delicious too! I couldn’t help myself and had a few (too many) bites. We planned on having their vanilla soft serve for dessert but ended up not ordering it. Next time I’ll definitely try it. Come here for a great meal anytime of the day!

Read moreThe food is all vegan, so it's nice you do not have to worry about that, since they are pretty specialized in making things getting pretty close to what people are used to eat as non-vegan in for example a fast food.
This goes for all kinds of Burgers, Nuggets... till even Bitterballen and some lovely desserts.
It is an amazing experience to taste what they are capable of making being all vegan.
Now the alternatives planned based foods of something that people used to know differently, are not really my kind of thing, now I really enjoyed the experience and tasting it.
I go there to show people the possibility and also with the kids to provide them the alternative experience.
Nice place for lunch, coffee/dessert afternoon or diner.

I had a great dinner here. My partner and I split the nacho bucket (chips, guacamole, beyond meat, cheesy sauce, & more), the bitterballen (a traditional Dutch dish), & a tempeh ramen salad. Everything was delicious! They also had a nice drink menu - we enjoyed some local ginger beer. I would highly recommend this spot for a yummy vegan meal!

Nice ice cream - Edit
Deer Mama has a lot going for it. It is brilliantly located ( at least for me as I live minutes away ), friendly staff, cool vibe and proper vegan ice cream but it is let down by the quality of its food. I should say I have never had a bad experience so it is not that the food is terrible, far from it. It just feels like there is not a properly trained chef in the kitchen as the food quality varies drastically.
Read moreI have eaten here many times as it is my vegan local and honestly it is rather shocking how different the same thing can taste from day to day. I guess that is a good thing as I can tell the food is fresh and not just bought, cooked and plated aside a few particular menu items and I am guessing many of the cakes.
Take the burgers and some of the sides, some times the taste is soo over powering by using too much of one particular ingredient that it is rather off putting but then the next time it tastes bland.
If this restaurant nailed its consistency it would be hard to beat for what it is! I am sure they will get there but perhaps they need to evaluate the staff before it can be reached.
The soft serve is consistently lovely if not a little bit pricey and I am sure I will be back for another serving soon :)

Na maanden uitkijken was het vandaag zo ver! Na de Animal Rights March heerlijk bij kunnen tanken in dit restaurant! Tiramusi Mylk Shake die ontzettend lekker is! Een heerlijke Nacho Burger! En als afsluiter een baksteen van een pindakaas brownie😍💚 Ook ondanks dat we met veel mensen waren die behoorlijk dus was werden we uitstekend en zeer vriendelijk bediend! Love you girls!❤

Have been looking forward to going here for quite some time and although nothing in particular was wrong, nothing stood out. The restaurant has an American diner vibe going on which is cool and stands out but the food does not. There was nothing wrong with our food in fact it was delivered quickly once ordered but we waited for quite a while without anyone coming to us and we had to order at the counter and again for desert and again for drinks as no one came to check on us. Our burgers where nice but nothing special and the side portions although very expensive are much too small for the price. A small fries is the size of a small cup just for an example... One of us got a soft serve which was nice and myself an ice cream sundae but at nearly twice the price for near enough the same volume of "ice cream" i would recommend anyone to just get the soft serve! Would we return? Sure if we where in the area and grab an ice cream but we would not go out of our way to go back. Really hope they can train their staff for better service and work on tweaking the recipes and costs. Wish you all the best!

Definitely one of our best vegan finds in Amsterdam. The café has an American diner vibe which certainly stands out. Everything’s vegan and there are quite a lot of options. The food is AMAZING. The pink pancakes are to die for! If you like pickled food, get the banh mi sandwich, but ask for it without coriander if you don’t like it. Highly recommend!

Lovely vibrant setting for a brunch - Edit
We went here from brunch last weekend - mainly as other vegan options that popped up didn’t serve breakfast food. I order the champions breakfast and my partner ordered the croquettes, but then we ate half and half. It was very difficult to decide which breakfast was better as both were fantastic - tasty and felt healthy as nothing was greasy. The scrambled tofu was great, as were the black beans. We also got a milkshake to share - I would thoroughly recommend this place. Service was prompt and the waiter was very friendly.

We ordered the Green Monster burger and a salad bowl with kimchi, charred avocado, mushrooms and more. Vegan soft serve ice cream with miso caramel sauce for dessert. All excellent. The burger has a peas and fava bean base and is one of the best I’ve ever had. The salad bowl can be done as Raman but we liked it as a salad. Very friendly staff and great service. Would definitely go back.

I had my eye on this place for a while and tonight we finally went. They have different kinds of burgers, including the Beyond Meat burger. The burgers we tried were great! They offer a wide range of foods and cool drinks/milkshakes. You should definitely try this place out.

Nice new restaurant serving the classier kind of junk food. We tried the burger and the milkshake, both very tasty. But will definitely go back to try the rest of the menu! Service is maybe a little too American. Very (very!) energetic. But they won’t let you go hungry.

Food was good. My wife really like the tempeh and noodle dish she ordered. My mushroom bbq “pulled pork” type sandwich. It was a solid B but not outstanding. Some interesting options on the menu Plus they have soft serve ice cream! Always a great vegan find.
