Cool place for eating real vegan food. Open during lunch time with a soup plus main course option. Always vegan.

Fijne plek!

Lekker en donation based gegeten.

Amazing community concept

This place is one of a kind. A very humble community kitchen offering simple vegan soul food on a sliding scale. You pay between 2.5 and 14€. It's a lively place, run by volunteers, where there is a real community ambiance and that seems to be very inclusive. I wish there were more spaces like this!

Pros: Pay on donation, Community space, Volunteer run

Pros: Super betaalbaar, Inspirerend, Inclusiviteit

Incredible Flavors & Unique Experience

I've been to both the Community Dinner side of De Sering, and their Test Tafel (upscale dining) side. Both experiences are amazing in their own way, and you share tables regardless of the dining experience you choose.

For their Community Dinner, you pay what you wish (suggested donation between 2.50-7.50 euro), you get a decent two-course dinner, and you're encouraged to eat as much as you wish. You also receive bread, and spreads to go alongside it.

Their upscale dining is also pay-what-you-wish (suggested donation starting at 35 euro), and it's definitely worth it! We absolutely loved the creativity of each dish, and we were blown away by the flavors. Service is great, and the chef gives an explanation of De Sering's mission every night. They have amazing alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink options.

While I love the vibe, it may not be everyone's cup of tea (a bit on the grungier side), and some nights they do have other (music/activist) events starting at 10pm. It's well-worth the commute (it's within walking distance of Sloterdijk train station). We can't wait to be back for both food and events!

Pros: non-pretentious, creative food, great taste!, affordable

Cons: Can be a bit hard to find, the vibe may not be for everyone

Decent vegan food for very little money

I was at an event at De Sering where they served dinner. The food was plentiful, tasty, and incredibly inexpensive. The staff were very friendly. The environment is very funky, in a way I like. Very basic, but it fits with the place. The tables were picnic tables with benches and chairs. They are non-profit, collectively run by volunteers, and they feed homeless people. Very nice vibe.

Pros: good vegan food, very inexpensive, non-profit
