Incredible vegan birthday celebration meal!

I wanted to celebrate my birthday somewhere special and I truly could not have selected a better place. I had already enquired ahead of my trip that there were vegan options including a dessert which would be my birthday dessert and it was a yes and if I could have a table overlooking the water.
I was seated on the balcony with a clear view of the Queen Emma swinging bridge and Punda coloured buildings. So pleased! I chose the vegan appetizer, a Japanese pancake ( delicious!) , beetroot risotto ( so filling!) and the strawberry pie as my birthday dessert.
The portions were good sized. The dishes were tasty, flavourful and filling. My server was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful making my dining experience there all the more memorable.
I wasn’t sure how or when my birthday dessert would come out but I was so surprised to see and hear about 5 servers come over to sing Happy birthday to me and place my birthday dessert with sparkler on top!
Truly a memorable and most delicious birthday celebration dining experience! I am most grateful to Du Gouverneur for this! Highly recommended!!

Pros: delicious well portioned vegan food, reserve a balcony table over the water, excellent attentive service

Banana soup!

Shockingly not sweet and delish, banana soup. Though, the toast accompanying it was a little suspicious (possibly butter, and not olive oil). They were out of vegan burger when we were there but next door at the swinging old lady brewery there is an amazing mushroom burger with vegan cheese, special sauce, and “facon” recommend walking over there. Also de governeur is open on Sundays which is helpful when lots of other options close.

Pros: Soup, Hours/days open

Not vegan friendly

Asked for a vegan dish and the staff said that the pasta can be made vegan. Received a creamy pasta with parmesan cheese.. turns out the kitchen was just randomly saying stuff just to get it over with. Most staff isn't familiar with dietary restrictions as well.

Pros: Central location

Cons: Unprofessional staff, Unbothered staff

Vegan options were out. Overpriced me for a an adjusted dish

They have 2 vegan options on the menu and sadly the ingredients were out of stock. I asked if two existing dishes could be combined. They agreed if I paid extra. The dish I got was not a mixed dish and they overpriced me anyway. Discovered this too late. I was so dissapointed!

Beautiful restaurant, great food!

We went for lunch and ordered the Beyond beef burger and the banana soup. We were blown away by the soup! The burger was pretty good too -- it had vegan cheese and fake bacon and was served with fries and vegan mayo. This restaurant is a really beautiful place to dine and the service is great. Pricey, but worth it!

Banana soup!!

When we heard about the banana soup- we were skeptical, but it was amazing! Our fav thing we ate in curaçao. It was spicy, a little sweet, and a mind game to figure out- don’t miss this dish! They also had a falafel burger which was yummy. Best part though is they have vegan Mayo so you can try the Dutch treat of French fries and Mayo- yum!

Tasty food, great view and friendly staff

Had our Christmas dinner here. They had a fixed menu with a vegan option for every course. Everything tasted amazing.

The staff is friendly and the view of Punda is nice as well.

I would definitely come again.

Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff , Great view

Cons: Expensive, Make sure you make a reservation for the balcony

Everyone is right, banana soup is amazing

This place is great! We sat on the balcony overlooking the floating bridge, we were super lucky and a giant huge ship passed through and it was awesome.
I had the vegan banana soup, it was delicious, very well spiced (flavored). I also had the vegan tempeh poke bowl. I was really excited about the tempeh because it was the first time I had seen it on a menu in Curacao, but alas, the bowl was served without any tempeh. The dish was thin glass noodles, shredded carrot, pickled red onion, picked English cucumber strips, and bread and butter style tiny itty bitty cucumber slices. It was good, lots of vinegar, but it could really have benefitted from the earthy tempeh to balance the dish.
On the menu was also a vegan bbq jackfruit burger, a vegetarian quiche, and a beet salad.
The food was very good, the view was incredible, the service was very fast and excellent.

Pros: Omg the view , Specifically marked vegan options , Good service

Cons: A little pricey, but the food is high quality

Mixed feelings

Let me start by saying I love Gouverneur, the setting on the harbor, the service, their rum selection... but... both veggie starter options had goatcheese in them and the only main course is a pasta dish (how original). On the other hand their vegan banana soup is to die for!

Pros: Their Cuban Banana Soup... awesome...

Cons: Limited choices for vegetarians , Vegan probably available but only when asked

We’ve had a wonderfull experience at the gouverneur. As starter we’ve had an amazing banana soup completely vegan! As main course we’ve ordered the dutch weed burger! Really recommend this restaurant!

Pros: Enough vegan/vegetarian options on the menu

Cons: Still to much non vegan dishes
