DC Veg Week highlight!

Ok this was one of the most elegant meals I’ve had in DC. DC Harvest did something incredible for DC Veg Week; they reworked their dinner menu to be 100% plant based and it was all fantastic. If you go for other times, check ahead because their menu is seasonal and the vegan selections vary. You wouldn’t have believed that the three cheese fonduto was vegan. And each of the entrees was absolutely beautiful and delectable. One highlight was the smoked carrots over grits; using a traditional smoking method they celebrated vegetables instead of meat as the center of the dish. There were great wines, and the cocktails were super creative—one was themed around a papaya salad in a glass! Finally, each of the vegan desserts was irresistible and packed with delight for each bite. Chef Arthur really knows how to use the best of
local, seasonal, and plant based to create sensational combinations!

Pros: Very plant forward; not focused on alternatives, Seasonal/local

Cons: Vegan selections vary in availability

Fresh farm-to-table and foraged ingredients

We went to DC Harvest tonight for its 100% menu in honor of DC Veg Restaurant Week, and it was spectacular! Everything was super-fresh and creative. Every ingredient in the Bucatini dish, including the roasted morel & porcini mushrooms was foraged just a few days ago. Great service and friendly staff.

Pros: 100% vegan menu for DC Veg Restaurant Week, Lots of vegan options on regular menu, Gourmet fare

Fantastic, inventive menu!

A group of us decided to check this place out as they were participating in the first-ever DC Vegan Restaurant week. The chef took the entire menu vegan and wow was it great! It turns out that many of the items in the menu were foraged locally. The sautéed fiddle head ferns and asparagus appetizer was delightful, as were the fried green tomatoes with a Thai basil peanut purée. Our entree was a knock-out: bucatini (house made!) with morels (locally sourced) and ramps (wild onion). It was phenomenal, so many layers of flavor. A chat with the chef revealed that he takes care when prepping his ingredients, and that the the menu is very vegan friendly outside of DC vegan rest week. Our server was friendly and attentive. We will be back again!!!

Pros: Inventive menu, Locally foraged and sourced ingredients

Could of been better

Ordered the pulled jackfruit and it could of been better. The consistency of it was weird, I’ve definitely had better. Other items could possibly be better.
