Good kitcheri after Bali belly - Edit
Update on my previous two reviews (July 2024):
Read moreI came back to this restaurant as I was suffering from bali belly but still wanted to eat something. I ordered the ayurvedic kitcheri and the calming tea. The kitcheri was such a huge portion that I couldn’t finish it and had to take away and it still felt like a full portion. Taste was quite good and definitely perfect for my Bali belly. Food came really quickly (although I have to say that I was the only customer at that time), staff was friendly. Price was good for the huge portion. I also really like their potato chips.
I have mixed feelings about this place. I love the kombucha (35 000 per bottle), the smoothies, the potato chips and the salads (huge). But unfortunately I haven't eaten any cooked food that I really liked. Most things are missing carbs and flavour. I really recommend the salads though especially the red rice and the quinoa salad. Cakes and cookies taste bland and are missing sugar or any other sweetener.
Staff is sometimes a bit slow and seems more interested in their phones.
Otherwise a relaxing place to sit and chill for a few hours.

Delicious healthy food! - Edit
Lots of vegan and vegetarian options available with a healthy twist. Food is really flavoursome, and large portions go down well.

Nice place to have some delicious vegan food - Edit
The indoor seating on the first floor was on the floor with cushions and a low table. This was a nice way to sit and eat our tasty meal. Food came out quickly and was fresh. There were a few small desserts/snacks available for sale on the wall and in a fridge. Prices were reasonable. Not totally vegan.

The lasagne was amazing, truly amazing! You can find here a few snacks and dishes we couldn't find anywhere else in Ubud - like Jamu bowl or pitaya chips.

I wish I could give 5 stars - Edit
This place is incredible, by far the BEST food I’ve eaten in Bali. The tempeh pumpkin lasagne was unreal. The salad dressing was amazing and the sauce on the side also amazing. I could happily eat this everyday.
Read moreEverything is aimed at being healthy but it tasted so good. They also have dessert and raw vegan chocolate.
There are also home made cookies. I got the ginger ones, they did taste healthy. Everything else was 5 star, super delicious.
I’m going back tomorrow.
Pros: The best food in Bali, Healthy , Extremely tasty

Wasn't too impressed - Edit
Staff was not present or attentive and the food was not that good...I had to go to the back a few times to call the waitress and felt bad for one customer who came and waited forever for someone to come and give a menu. I had to go to the back to call them

Disappointed - Edit
We were disappointed because we ordered burgers and what we received were clearly not burgers, just layered tempeh with sweet potatoes and veggies. No bread. We asked what happened and they say that it's because they are gluten free (well, gluten free bread is not that hard). They should mention on the menu that the burger is not a burger and has no bread.

not worth it. even the cookies aren't that great. - Edit
I ordered gado-gado lontong - "lontong" specifically refers to compressed rice cooked inside a leaf; this is just steamed rice inside a leaf =((((
Read morethe English description reads "steamed", but lontong is boiled/steamed too so......... guess they should just change the name.
the tempeh and tofu are in strips, but mostly tofu. what added to my disappointment was the sauce - not very flavourful and a bit thin (ie. watery).
also given the price - definitely won't be coming back to this.
there are heaps of choices in Bali, no need for this one.

Nice place - Edit
I had green smoothie bowl but I don't recommend it. Topping was really poor, ingredients weren't that much tasty. Portion was big enough but taste could be better, so don't expect much. The manu includes vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Besides taxes are not included in price. At the entrance there is also small cookie and cake stall which have vegan options. In general they have nice sitting area at upstairs. But I am not thinking to go there again.

Beautiful appetizing presentation of their dishes. Quite a few vegan options and fresh juices. The squash burger was more like a mash. Had gluten free options, too. Beautiful selection of vegan and gluten free deserts. The fruit letter was a yummy snack on our hike.

Delicious food and vegan snacks for sale! - Edit
Great range of Indonesian and western dishes that are well portioned. Soups aren’t great, but mains are delicious and decently priced (be aware there is a 10% tax added on top). Service is poor so you will have to go to the servers to order and pay, especially if you seat yourself upstairs, which is much more comfortable than downstairs. Servers are often unaware that you’ve entered the restaurant altogether so you need to go find them to get any service or else you will wait for a long time before they realize you’re there. Amazing range of vegan, gluten-free breakfast cookies (10k for 3) and bars available downstairs to take home. All homemade and there are also veggie chips!

Interesting but not amazing dishes - Edit
Nice warung (especially the room upstairs), dishes are different and it's cheaper than other organic restaurants (maximum 45k+10% for a main) but portions are a bit small and the Nasi Campur and the rice with tofu, beans and eggplants were a bit bland. Pricey but delicious drinks.

bland and not well cooked - Edit
We found the warung close to our home stay and thought we give it a try just to get a break from busy hanoman street. We had the scrambled tofu with eggplant and "veggie/tempeh burger". Both dishes consisted of mushed veggies, which tasted bland and were half cooked. The "burger pattie" being gluten free was some mushed potatoes with broad beans and weirdly tasting spinach. The sweet potatoe fries with 3 varieties of chutney were awful. Same with the tofu/eggplant dish: mushy, tasteless, if tasting of anything then really weird and the beans in the dish couldn't be eaten because they were not fully cooked. Our meals were accompanied by tea, which tasted not bad, but was difficult to drink with all the loose seeds in it. I'm really sorry but this was the worst food I had in the whole of Bali.

Everything about this place is lovely, from the chilled-out vibe, to Dayu's health philosophy and the wholesome food. I got the turmeric fried rice without egg to veganise it and it was so delicious. Very generous portion size and accompanied with tofu and tempeh satay sticks-you can tell the soy is organic because it tastes 'real', not plastic and rubbery like worser quality soy products. Very much health orientated warung. Chai tea was delicious also.

Bland food - Edit
The food is bland. The veggie burger consisted of five different squashes that didn't fit together. Even the Pad Thai was flavorless. Lots of better places to eat in Ubud.
