Not good value for money

We came here knowing that the options available were limited. The menu was in English and the only vegan options were from the appetiser section, the prices of which were the same as the mains but of far smaller size. We had the Pkhali Plate which, whilst tasty, needed bread which had to be purchased separately. The Adjapsandali (vegetables cooked on coals) was disappointing, as the portion was very small and the flavour quite bland.

Pros: English menu, Atmosphere , Staff helpfulness

Cons: Small portions, Overpriced , Bland flavour

Einige vegane Möglichkeiten…

… die leider nicht wirklich in der Karte gekennzeichnet sind. Auf Nachfrage lassen sie sich aber in Erfahrung bringen.
Das Restaurant ist wirklich toll eingerichtet!

Satisfecho a medias

Need vegan khinkalis

In other Georgian restaurants you can find khinkali (dumplings) with veggies and mushrooms. Here no such an options. Veggie option they have coming with cheese.

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: No vegan dumplings , No sign of veggie options in the menu

Few, but excellent options

Only a small variety of vegan/vegetarian food to choose from. However, what they have on offer is very delicious! The place is very cosy and the service was very good! Our waitress spoke excellent English.

Several of the starters are vegetarian, some vegan. Some are cold, others warm. Our waitress explained that the Kvelis kudi (champignons, tomatoes, onions with several spices in cheese) would be warm and big enough to have it as a 'main'. The other starters are too small to have only one. To make sure to have enough to eat, we (2 people) ordered a Chatschapuri (which is not vegan, however) in addition to two starters.

Could be better

We explained that we are not eating cheese and in dumplings we had full of it... Waiter said that white cheese is not a cheese. One meal was to throw, to pay... And big waist of food.
There is potential a few vegan options... But we prefere other restaurants.

Pros: A few vegan options

Cons: Expensieve , Low english, Vegan options treat like a vegeterian

Not too cheap but worth it.

The most delicious food I’ve had in Kazakhstan. Not too many vegan options but what they have will surely satisfy you!

Wow! Fabulous Georgian Restaurant

This is a wonderful place... I had a few of their appetizers.... see the pictures of the dishes I had and the nice dry red wine I had with them! The place is made to feel like you are eating in a typical Georgian home... the service was excellent... my waitress was Danagul who was very helpful in making my food and wine selections. I would rate it 5 stars if I could... but not allowed because they serve meat dishes...

Great for everyone

Some of the crew speaks English. Unfortunately ours was not so it was a bit hard to know what was vegan.
But the food was super delicious and meat eaters find also plenty of food. Therefore it was great for me to choose it on a business trip.

pkhali paradise!

Great food with a great range of veggie/ vegan options. Adjapsandali is a veg stew and pkhali is a walnut sauce that is used to stuff various vegetables. Lobio is a red bean dish and in season they also serve green bean lobio. Lobiani is a red bean pie so plenty of choice for vegans, just don't expect a plated main course - order an array of these dishes. Lots of salads to choose from and Georgian wine to wash it all down!

Pros: many vegan options

Not so many options if you are vegan

We ordered just 3 starters the waiter recommended us (especially we weren't really hungry), all were yummy. But all main dishes were non-vegan. Quality is nice, portions are small, quite pricey, helpful staff.

Pros: Food quality, staff

Cons: No vegan main dishes, prices, old fashioned decor

The place to be in Almaty

We found this place very charming and the food was really delicious. We had fried potatoes with onion and mushroms, lentils stew, eggplant ragout and fresh caucasian salads. And we came again and again.

Pros: Great food, Charming terrace, Staff ready to advise you in English or Russian

Cons: None unless you don't mind meat based restaurant
