Tried their Kimchi Ramen and it was delicious. They have a few vegan selections that I can’t wait to try.

Questionably vegan - Edit
When asked what’s vegan they marked each option with a green pen. One of the ramen options - wakame ramen - appeared to have fish cake. I ordered and specified we are vegan and don’t want fish, but I got the fish cake in my ramen.

Ramen broth lacked complexity and although it tasted vegan, it was also a boring broth. There are better ramen options in Hilo

Solid vegan ramen options - Edit
When we said vegan, they brought out a color-coded menu with many vegan options. I got the kimchi ramen with tofu which was great. Service was friendly and very fast. They also had fried rice or fried noodle dishes. It seems to be a mostly local place with very simple decor.

Great vegan options - Edit
The food at Daiichi is absolutely delicious! Servers are very helpful in navigating vegetarian/vegan options. They use the word “vegan” and they are aware of their ingredients/what an animal-derived food is. The service here is extremely fast and attentive. The portion sizes are very large and the noodles are all SO tasty!! Vegetables are fresh and the tables are well-equipped with add-ons like hot oil, dried garlic, and soy sauce. Daiichi is such a great spot to have a nourishing veggie meal with friends.
