Great little hole in the wall place - Edit
I wanted a place in Clarksville, halfway between my house and his, where I could meet my dad for my birthday lunch. Based on the reviews here I chose Dae Bok.
Read moreHerman runs the front and his mom, a native Korean, does the cooking. He explained that his mom uses jackfruit in place of meat for vegan versions or after just leaves it out. Just ask which dishes can be made this way.
I ordered the bulgogi with jackfruit and my dad had the chicken bulgogi. But he tried and liked the jackfruit as well. We also ordered the yakimandu, fried dumplings.
Meals come with kimchee, made without using fish ingredients, and a bean sprout salad.
We each had enough food to bring home a full second meal. Herman was very friendly and informative. There were a few other customers that came in, plus a few takeout orders, while we were there.
The restaurant is not somewhere you would notice if you were driving by but it is a hidden treasure for sure. There are plenty of options for your vegan tastes as well as your omnivore family and friends.
Pros: Many dishes can be made vegan, Friendly family run business, Large portions

So good! - Edit
Family-run hole in the wall spot with amazing vegan options. Vegan dishes weren’t listed on the menu when we visited, but the server gave us a detailed rundown of what could be made vegan and how. Generous portions and very inexpensive. Happy Cow won’t let me give 5 stars for a non-vegan restaurant or I would.

LOVE this place!! - Edit
SUPER big portions and the nicest family ever runs this little shop. Spoke to the owner and her mother, the cook, the first time I went. The owner is plant based and has many vegan friends. The cook is Korean and she understands English well.
