Two burger choices

*** UPDATE ***
Went here again last week. It is slightly better. They now have Beyond Burger, which comes with Daiya mozzarella cheese and vegan mayo. I told my server that I like the Beyond to still be red in the middle, as I have found that too many chefs try to cook it until it’s gray. You guessed it, over cooked to the point of inedible. At least the bun was good.

I have confirmed with Dad’s that the veggie patty is indeed vegan (I had heard rumors that it had egg or cheese). But if you order that sandwich, have them hold the muenster and garlic aioli to make it all vegan.

Some of the other vegan (not healthy, but vegan) are deep fried garbanzo beans (which are snack food addicting), and deep fried cauliflower (happy hour only).

Went there tonight (January 2018). If you know Dad’s, you know this is a burger joint. They make good burgers, and a variety of them, but alas that’s not vegetarian so I digress. They now have two burger options for us: a Beyond Burger, and a homemade veggie patty burger. I had the veggie burger tonight, and it was pleasantly good. Of course, you have to order it without cheese, as they normally are cheesed.

Downside was there was not much that is veggie friendly here: 2 burgers, chili, and sides like French fries and onion rings. Even all of their salads have meat, except the Caesar salad, and I didn’t ask if they used anchovies in the dressing. I also don’t know if the onion rings batter had milk or egg, but I would expect it does.

Other downside is that while the fries and rings are cooked in veggie oil (I’m not talking healthy food here, just technically vegan food), it is the same fryer they use for chicken strips and everything else they fry. So if that bothers you, I guess the side salad is for you.
