Deliciosos gyros veganos! Cada uno nos costó 2,5 euros, muy buena relación precio-calidad.

Volveríamos de todas maneras!!

We love it!

We just love the food and the staff! Portions are large, tasty and made with love. Haven't tried the lentil kebab because I always visit late but I guess it's amazing if it runs out! Potatoes are delicious too. Def worth standing in line :-)

Cons: I'd like some salt and pepper available on the tab

Vegan Souvlaki

I don't usually write such elaborate reviews, but here we go:

Finally a place in Athens that specializes in vegan souvlaki! We were thrilled to find out about this place and decided to try it for the first time for lunch.

On HappyCow as well as in an article published online it is states that they open at 1:30pm. However, when we went at 2:30pm they were still not open. We wanted to give it another try and went back for dinner. There was a huge line of people, and everything was a bit unorganized. People who ordered weren't given a number or anything else so there was no way of knowing whose turn it was and if people were actually given the correct meals.

There are three choices: yellow souvlaki, red souvlaki, and kebab. They were already out of kebab when we arrived which is a bit disappointing given that there are only three things on the menu to start with.
The people making the souvlakia were very slow and uncoordinated which is never a good thing but especially with street food.
The mushroom souvlakia are rather interesting as they include avovado and mustard or tomato sauce (hence, yellow and red). The tomato sauce was disappointing, however, as it clearly consisted of canned crushed tomatoes which anyone who has ever used canned tomatoes will recognize from the taste immediately. Otherwise, they were very filling for the price of 2.50 per souvlaki.

Overall, while it's great to be able to get a vegan souvlaki in the center of Athens, and the concept of adding different flavors, such as avocado, is definitely interesting, it's disappointing when new eateries think that offering vegan food is good enough to make them successful. Not being open one hour after you were supposed to be, running out of one third of your dishes, and being slow and unorganized really makes the hype unwarranted in my opinion. I understand that Saturdays are extremely busy for street food eateries and that this is still a very new place, but the owners are supposed to be experienced so I would have hoped for more.

I will definitely give them another try to see if this was a one-time unfortunate event and will update my review accordingly.

Pros: First vegan souvlaki place in Athens, Interesting, non-traditional additions

Cons: Unorganized and slow, Not open on time, Uses canned tomatoes

Delicious vegan souvlaki

Amanita Grill offers super delicious vegan souvlaki made with sautéed mushrooms. We tried two different ones: Red & Yellow Amanita: the other one was with tomato sauce and the other one with mustard. They were both super good! And well worth of their price (2,50€ each). The place is small, take-away style, but there's some tables outside where you can enjoy your pita – if there's room!

Pros: Good value, Amazing taste, Fast – if there's no line

Cons: Only few options
