Hearty breakfast

You definitely won’t leave hungry from here. I had the regular sized vegan breakfast (£6ish), which included baked beans, a hash brown, a sausage (Linda McCartney beans), avocado, toast and tomato, plus optional vegan black pudding (tasted like stuffing). The food was all nice and there was plenty of it. The large size breakfast for a couple of extra pounds has extras of the same items. I also had an oat milk flat white - more like a filter coffee than a flat white, but drinkable

Pros: Vegan options well marked on menu , Affordable , Won’t leave hungry

Cons: Coffee isn’t great

Great cafe

I don't usually get excited about vegan breakfast options in places, but actually this breakfast was just what I needed. It was nice to have the avocado on the side, and the server also offered us additional vegan black pudding. The service was brilliant, and they had a few vegan marked options on the menu. Blackpool isn't the best places for finding vegan food, so loved somewhere having options clearly marked. We were actually planning on going somewhere else nearby, but they were closed, and in the end I was really pleased we ate here.

Nice Breakfast

I liked the breakfast. Lovely hashbrowns and even like me swap the avocado for an extra one. Only thing was the mushrooms and sausage were slightly undercooked. But in all I enjoyed and will go again.

Also, you get a lot of tea with your own pot!

Breakfast.

I thought I would give compass a try for my breakfast. I ordered the large vegan breakfast and I wasnt disappointed.
The service was pleasant and prompt. I didnt have to wait too long for my food to arrive.
The food arrived and I was pleased with the amount I received.
The breakfast was well presented.
My only criticism would be that the sausages, although fully cooked, could have done with a bit more colour on them.
I will most definitely be trying the other vegan options available at compass.

Pros: Vegan options available

Very rude staff

I ordered a vegan breakfast (before lockdown), to my dismay as the food was brought over 1 of my vegan sausages rolled off the plate and onto the floor. The cafe was very quiet we were 1 of only 2 couples in. The staff member didn't say much but went to amend and brought me a new sausage in a small bowl 30 seconds later. As it wasn't peak time I found it difficult to believe this was a fresh item (which I did ask and the server said....'sure' ... and if it was these must be made and left in heated containers. The flat white we ordered was basically a weak cappuccino with no sign of textured milk, and the Americano had no crema unfortunately, and resembled a weak filter coffee. There was a gentlemen sat at the bar (assumingly he works there) whom glanced over a lot, almost staring, as well as appeared to be gossiping rather loudly. Very disappointing as we'd read reviews and were looking forward to our visit.

Pros: Some vegan options

Cons: Expensive for portion sizes, Tasteless coffee, Customer service

Vegan breakfast lovely

Update Aug 2020. Far better now. Bigger option of vegan breakfast too. Only thing is the milk alternative . You need to get Oatley barista or another barista alternative to make a good coffee. That's my preference though. Double Espresso is fine for now.

2019:
I've been twice now. Not had any issues so far. I loved avocado with my breakfast too. I got two Linda McCartney sausages, two hash browns, mushrooms, avocado, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms with my brekkie so perhaps they've read the comments on here from below and made changes.

I normally go spoons for the vegan brekkie so this is a lovely local place we can support instead. Great to see places offering vegan. We'll be back. Five stars once coffee taste good.

The owner even came to say hi and see how the vegan option was for us. Thanks

Pros: Tasty brekkie, Can upgrade to large

Cons: Alternative milk in coffee is yuk.

Nice little cafe

Friendly and welcoming staff, I had the vegan breakfast and a chocolate milkshake made with oat milk. Nice to find this place was visiting for a couple days and don't seem to have many vegan places so was good to have a decent breakfast 😊

Pros: Outdoor seating, Friendly staff

Was my go to for vegan light meals, was!

Last two visits very disappointing, hard avocados, rude gent serving who seems he would rather be anywhere else, it was the rudeness of the man serving that caused us to leave before we had even looked at the menu. Will be unlikely to return.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Rude man serving, Noisy

Friendly, great service!

I recently went into compass cafe for the first time after reading about it on here, on arrival, the place was spotless, tidy and had a friendly atmosphere. Myself and parter took our seat and was welcomed by a staff member serving behind the counter. We ordered a vegetarian and a vegan breakfast as well as a almond milk mocha. Our meals were great and nothing was over filling and greasy!

Pros: A nice selection of quality milk alternatives , Friendly, attentive staff , Well cooked wholesome food

Cons: Could benefit from more vegan / veg meal options , Vegan milks not mentioned on the menu , Needs promo signage for vegan food available

Disappointing

For some reason (maybe cos of other reviews here) I was expecting hash browns, tofu scramble and more sausage for the vegan breakfast, but I got hard avocado on toast (which was almost cakey in texture and so made me worry about whether the bread was vegan) and a lone Linda Mc sausage which seemed to have been microwaved to within an inch of its existence and hence was very hard. along with the beans in a pot, a tomato and mushrooms.

Service was speedy and attentive and the prices were very good but I wouldn´t go back because of the above.
