Not great - Edit
Took nachos. Other available vegan option was Tamales. No vegan hotdog. Decent amount of nachos but salsa so watery that it just made the nacho wet when you dipped it.

Limited and basic options - Edit
A vegetarian tamal and quesadilla can be made vegan by skipping the dairy cheese (no vegan alternative available but you have to pay the same price). Apart from that you can have nachos and guacamole and a vegan hot dog. Had the veggie tamal, which was fairly good but pretty small.

Cons: small portions, pricey for what you get, limited choices

Small portions - Edit
There was no English menu but the bar tender was friendly and happy to translate for us. There are no designated vegan options but with small amendments the nachos and quesadilla can be made vegan.
Read moreThe food was tasty but there wasn't much off it, it was more like bar snacks rather than a meal.

It was average - Edit
The food wasn't overly spectacular. The vegan hotdog tasted funny. The staff were friendly however so I commend them for that.

Tamales - Edit
El Colorado is a clasic stop in Madrid near Plaza España. Ideal setting if you go to the cinema (in original language) or you are just walking in the center. This mexican/chicano bar has vegetarian and Vegan options. I’m from Mexico and it’s very rare to find Vegan tamales. Normaly they made it with pig lard, even if the ingredients are vegetable. Here the Tamal is made with olive oil... You also have nachos, tacos and hot dogs. Very good music, tequila and mexican beer.
