Nothing special

I had a few dishes from buffet and ordered dumpling. Buffet's food weren't delicious but dumplings were better. I couldn't find any other place around at that time so it was my only option, otherwise I don't recommend that.

Not so great

Had a couple of things from the buffet, but did not like it that much, to be honest. I thought I selected broad beans in a spicy sauce, but it was mockmeat that tasted like lard .. The sauce was good though. Veggies were average. Boyfriend had the same opinion.

Quite popular with the locals though. The place was packed with people when we got there. Maybe we just selected the wrong items?

Pros: Cheap, Fully vegetarian restaurant

Not What We Expected

We saw pretty good reviews for this place. I had already eaten at many places in Malacca, but this one wasn’t even close to as good as the others. We ordered 3 things, none of which had any flavor (spring rolls, veggie dumplings, and some kind of noodle). We felt pressured to order quickly because the guy was standing and waiting for us to choose. They also served everything with plastic cutlery, which I hate to use when I’m actually sitting down at a restaurant.

God sent!

This vegetarian restaurant is simply amazing. The young cook is from Myanmar and has great presence. They offer an extensive buffet selection and some a la carte dishes. The only thing I didn't like was the veg sushi, was very expensive for what it was. But the rest is dirt cheap and delicious. Free water, Chinese tea and soup as well. Really busy with locals during lunch time. Take out also possible. So if you happen to be in Melaka and want cheap, quality vegan food, this is the place!

Pros: Central location, Excellent value, Delicious, good variety

Cons: Sushi not good

Was Good

Vegetarian food and got a main dish of ‘chicken’ curry & rice for only 6RM. With this, was also included a complimentary Chinese tea.

Pros: Lots of options, Decent Portions, Cheap

decent to very good

We were late, so there was no more buffet. I tried two a la cart dishes here: fried noodles (which I requested but wasn't on the menu), and the Thai style fried rice (which the fellow recommended). The noodles were acceptable, but the Thai style fried rice was very very good. Bit sour with pineapple. For each dish, small already meant a full size meal at 6RM. We were also a fan of the waiter.

Pros: Thai style fried rice, big portions

Standard Chinese veg

Went to this place a bunch of times during my stay in Melaka. Buffet in the first shift only, I think. On every occasion but two, a quirky Dobby-like fellow was running the place, taking orders and gauging plate prices. I paid RM5 for a pretty packed place, and my girlfriend under 2 for a normal one.
However, I also went one Saturday when there was a ton of dishes and a much more serious woman, who seemed like the owner, was at the helm. When I presented my slightly-more loaded plate she called it at 10. Shocked, I said I paid half that for a similar plate a few days before, to which she asked if the one who charged me was my main man as he doesn't know how to count the values properly.
According to her, each "scoop" or piece of a buffet item is 1 or 2 ringgit depending on what it is. Of course it's impossible to know unless you ask, but if it's legit a similar system is probably in place at all aces like this. Next day we went back for takeout and a guy who looked like the father of the first guy charged us somewhere between what I was charged by the other two. Arbitrary!
As a last point, I do not recommend the clay pot fried rice with vegetable. It was essentially oily rice with a few miserable greens and mushrooms placed on top.

Pros: sometimes dirt cheap, fairly tasty, a lot of options

Cons: sometimes not as cheap, insanely oily

Cheapest veg in town!

Definitively the cheapest vegetarian restaurant in Malacca. A lot of dishes on the menu are 5 ringgits including a plate from the buffet and the rest is 8 ringgits. And it includes a soup and free water. They also have a steamboat for only 10 ringgits.

If everything is closed or you love mock meat

This place closes late and it’s really cheap for a buffet.

There’s an interesting variety of mock meats, mostly greasy stuff that would surprise most vegans. Some of the food is tasty but mostly okay.

good food

Much like the rest of Malaysia, nothing really different except you can guarantee it's all veg.
Good, cheap & no frills!

To give you a rough basis on price, I had a whole plate full of food (x3 diff veg options and rice) for 6r

We were told to leave

Arrived 45 minutes after opening time, and wasn't too sure of what was vegan, so we asked and after a few minutes of them trying to find out one of the guys told us to go outside and leave because they were 'closing'.

Pros: Food looked cheap

Cons: Chefs wouldn't listen , Told us to leave after 5 minutes

Excellent buffet with healthy options

Pleasing buffet selection! Included tempeh, braised eggplant, steamed broccoli & cauliflower w/ Chinese mushroom, pumpkin, tofu, green beans & other various steamed greens, a few noodle dishes & a various mock meat dishes.

There were at least a dozen things to choose from & many healthy/simple vegetable choices (if mock meat isn't your preference).

Also a choice of white or brown steamed rice.

Prices are up on the board. We paid 7 ringgit per plate & we had our plates quite full with about 6 choices. I think it might be cheaper if you serve yourself less food. :)

All was delicious & fresh, I can recommend to others.

Pros: tempeh, healthy steamed vegetables , brown rice option

Alive, Well, and Serving Great Food (really cheap)

I saw in the blurb for this restaurant that it might be closed. I just ate there (Jan 4, 2014). The place is alive and well; and serving a great buffet at really cheap prices. Don't miss it. I also recommend the fresh lime juice for 1.5 ringit... excellent.

Pros: great food, very cheap, nice staff

Cheap and cheerful

THis is a ramshackle, friendly neighbourhood place, with locals, mainly Chinese and Indians casually strolling in, filling up their plates and eating in silence.

There is a buffet- you fill your plate and then the waitress makes a quick judgement of the price- my plates ranged between 4 and 6 ringit. It would seem easier to me just to say 5 ringit per plate...but maybe this is some ancient Chinese custom of judging the price of a plate according to the eye which I am not familiar with.

Anyway, the food itself is variable, some days great, others just passable. The best item I tasted was what I think is a Nyonya dish of eggplant cooked with a kind of sambal paste. In fact one day I thought to myself...'this is the best plate of food I have ever eaten for $1.50!'.

There are also about a dozen or so alacarte options, mainly mees and claypot type dishes.

Pros: cheap

All you can eat for dirt cheap!

This place has a great selection of vegetable and mock-meat dishes, for an incredible price. Two of us ate heaping platefuls for RM8! Some of the mock-meat dishes are a bit greasy, but for the price, you really can't complain. Decent atmosphere too, and reasonably clean. Would go there again.

Pros: Cheap, All-Veggie, Close to town

Cons: Greasy

nice, basic place

the thing about this place is that it's one of the few all-veggie places open late in the area. it's on a street of casual chinese food joints, down towards the 7-11, and has fresh juices, typical Chinese buffet fare, mock meats, curry, stewed veggies and some Nyona dishes until late (closing time is 11 but I ate there at 11:30). friendly and basic.

Pros: open late, cheap, friendly

Cons: pretty basic, a little scruffy, there's better veg in malacca
