Wonderful!!!!

The store itself was great! It had all the staples you need for a healthy, organic vegan (and not vegan) pantry. I also had the chickpea cherry salad sandwich and it was Fabulous! My fiancé had the tempeh vegan Philly and it was again Fabulous! We shared the sweet potato chipotle chili and it we inhaled it all. Charlie was SO nice and friendly. I definitely recommend coming here to shop or for lunch or both!

Best natural food store in Northern Michigan

Anyone looking for fresh, healthy, organic produce and a plethora of vegetarian/vegan options in the Benzie County, Michigan area MUST visit Charlie's Natural Food Market in Frankfort. Every year we make the trek from Los Angeles to Frankfort for our summer vacation... as much as we love the natural beauty of the area, in the past we always felt marginalized in terms of healthy, vegetarian/vegan-friendly food options. Charlie's has changed all that. Now we can look forward to summers at Lake Michigan without having to compromise our dietary needs. Charlie, his wife Wendy and staff are incredibly warm, helpful, and extremely knowledgable. They have a sensational selection of sandwiches, daily soups and a wonderful French-flair cafe with exquisite steamed coffee selections. (You HAVE TO try the tempeh BLT and Chickpea salad!). Needless to say, stopping by Charlie's quickly became part of our daily ritual. Thank you, Charlie, Wendy and staff for working so hard to bring healthy and organic food choices to the region! We look forward to seeing you again next summer!
