Excellent food - lots of vegan options

They have a good size vegetarian menu - all of which is vegan! Yay :)
I tried cashew veggies, basil eggplant and a spinach wrap appetizer. All of it was really good. The cocktails are expensive and I will probably not order one next time - the mango mojito I tried was a little too sweet for me but that is personal preference.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tasty food

classy atmosphere, delicious food

Family and I went for a late lunch. Enjoyed appetizers of garlic sesame chicken and spring rolls. Veggie curry as my entree. Everything was very flavorful and liked that we could choose the spice level of dishes from 1-5. Large portion sizes.

Pros: flavorful, many veg options, spiciness according to customer's taste

Cons: more expensive because of large portions

not inherently vegetarian

You must qualify your vegetarian orders, even those listed as "vegetarian" on the menu, to not possess the following (per 2 waitresses we had): no chicken broth, no fish sauce, no oyster sauce. Vegans should also know to ask for no egg. While they do make food to order, I think we've been had on occasion as well, tasted oyster sauce - a distinct flavor.
I went here only after family brought us food from here, and would be reluctant to suggest it. However, the decor is nice & parking is ample.

Uncertain about actual veganism of our order

Pros: just be careful and redundant

Cons: a bit too much garlic for me, never quite sure if the order is vegan

ONE OF THE BEST THAI RESTAURANTS IN USA

Our party of four found the restaurant packed at dinner time. Pen Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in the USA. The  atmosphere and seats are nice, although with dozens of people talking, it was a bit loud (likely due to alcohol).  Even for vegetarians one will be very pleased with the food. Click on their website menu and scroll down to the Vegetarian section with about 40 veggie selections. By skipping the usual egg whites, you can make your meal vegan. Always request in any Asian restaurant "no fish sauce"!  Only tofu is listed on the menu. However, if you want texturized soy protein rather than tofu, request the Chick-N soy protein or other mock meats.  We also ask that food preparation knives & serving spoons be washed for us wherever we go. No one ever refuses as they want our repeat business and tips!  One of us also requested no added salt, less spice & oil. The meal was perfect! It was so good, two of went back the next day for lunch. Again we we impressed. And, both times there was enough left over for take home containers. {Note: At any restaurant always put your leftover meal in the container yourself...no mis-steaks that way...pun intended!}

Pros: Very good to excellent food, Ambiance, Attentive personnel

Cons: Very popular=wait time possible
