  • Farmers-market Farmer's Market

Authentic, real life Cretan farmers market. Every Saturday morning/midday near the waterfront in Chania 3-4 farmers are selling certified organic fresh, homegrown tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, fresh herbs, zucchini, watermelons, etc. straight from the farm. Produce depends on the season. Bring cotton bags to avoid using plastic bags. (Please note this is not all-vegan.) Close to Nektar & To Stachi restaurants.

Very nice avenue

Lots of choices. Prices are good, comparing to supermarket.
Most of the produce is organic.
Several types of olives/olive oil.
Homegrown bananas.
Organic dates.
Dragon fruit. Passion fruit.
Oranges, of course.

People let you taste the goods, even if you don't buy it at the end.
No stress, no pressure.
Very kind merchants!

I would highly recommend it.

Please note that the farmers market is held not only Saturday, but Monday and Thursday as well, just in different locations. Check Google Maps for it.

Pros: Very nice people , Nice location, just near the sea., Organic produce. Nice prices. Wide variety.

FARMERS MARKET IN CHANIA

Every saturday morning/mid-day. There are 3-4 prganic farmers selling their home-grown, fresh and certified organic produce, and it is great! BEST PRICES are usually found at farmers markets.
Depending on the season the produce changes from cherry and stonefruits to watermelons and grapes etc. There are an abundance of fresh greens too! Zucchini, tomatos, cucumbers, lettuce, fresh herbs, onions etc.! Bring your own bags and/or organic cotton bags. That way you will avoid the use of plastic when shopping at this local farmers market. 🍉🍇🥬

Pros: Certified organic , Abundance of vegetables , Close to “Nektar” & “To Stachi”. Veg restaurants.

Cons: Not all organic , Not entirely vegan
