Tasty and accommodating

Tasty food and they are always very accommodating when I request things to be made vegan. Friendly staff too.

Pros: Vegan options, Accommodating

Cons: Not a vegan restaurant , Busy on weekends if you’re ordering takeout

Great vegan options at a fair price

My husband and I have eaten at Cham Thai multiple times now, and we continue to have amazing experiences. The staff is friendly. The food tasted AMAZING! They can veganize various dishes that aren’t marketed as being vegan/vegetarian, such as Sweet and Sour Chicken. My husband ordered Sweet and Sour Tofu recently and really enjoyed it. We’ve also tried the Thai Chili Basil dish which was fantastic. But, personally, I find the Panang curry to be my favorite dish at Cham Thai. Also, the portions are HUGE which means you can easily get 2-3 meals out of a single dinner portion, making Cham Thai more affordable than some other Thai restaurants in the area while still being very tasty.

When you order (esp with curry), make sure to tell them you want it made vegan. They’ll make sure not to include any animal products, including oyster/fish sauce. I’ve been to other Thai restaurants (Thai Station in Carrboro) that do not take the issue of fish sauce seriously, only for my husband and I to later learn we ate animal products. That has NEVER happened at Cham Thai which makes me feel comfortable eating there.

They currently aren’t open for in-house dining, but you can do carry-out (highly recommend). When we’ve been inside to pick up our food, staff members always wore masks and were conscious of safety guidelines. The restaurant always looks clean and well-maintained when we go too.

All around, this is a great Thai restaurant. I would highly recommend going and trying a curry.

Pros: Big portions , Reasonable price (esp considering portion size), Knowledgeable of veganism

Cons: Can have long wait times for take-out
