Decent milkshakes - Edit
Can’t comment on the food as we only stopped by on a hot day for a couple of milkshakes, something that is still shockingly rare in a lot of restaurants that cater for vegans. They were nice, I’ve definitely had worse but it was slightly annoying they had no ice cream or cream on top, both mentioned on the menu. I can only assume the veggie versions come with these but not the vegan ones which seems a bit of a faux pas given how easily they are available.

Cons: Milkshakes not as good as could be

Great food and super cheap - Edit
Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Their To-fish and chips is great, and is a good sized portion for £5. The other food looks great too, but I keep going back for the same meal!
Read moreDon't go on a sunny day because it's in the basement, and don't go for the decor, because it's a nightclub in the evening! However if it's raining and you want a really good fill of vegan food and you're on a budget, then it will meet your needs.
Pros: Half menu items are vegan, Cheap, Good sized portions
Cons: Dark nightclub atmosphere

After years of living close to Exeter I’ve only just tried the Cavern and so glad I did! Wow! It was quiet and felt like we were in a secret hide out. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely eat there again 🌱❤️

Cheap and good - Edit
We had a veggie and a vegan breakfast - both were cheap and cheerful, but tasty and big portions! Tea and coffee both have free refills with food, and at £1 a mug, very good value!

Vegan food + music venue: perfect! - Edit
Amazing selection of vegan food for such a little place. I had the vegan fish and chips and it was delicious. I also recommend the Oreo milkshake! They have a good selection of vegan sauces (mayo etc). The waitress was lovely and the service quick. How great to eat in a music venue!

Cute little cafe - Edit
Cosy little cafe operating in a night club during the day which gives it a nice atmosphere. The food was cheap and cheerful, I had the jackfruit burger which cost £4. However I went as part of a big group and food took a long time and there were many mix ups.

Great vegan comfort food! - Edit
This place is great - good value vegan & vegetarian food in an indie club, with super-friendly staff. I had a jackfruit burger and the staff helped me to customise it to make it vegan, with vegan cheeze and mayo. It was delicious! I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in Exeter.

Vegetarian greasy spoon! - Edit
I have visited the Cavern Café many times. I love it because I know I can always pop in when I have a craving for an English breakfast! Their vegan breakfast includes hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms, tomato and either toast or fried bread, recently it's also included sausages so they must have switched to vegan friendly ones.
Read moreThe service is friendly but slow, because often the person who takes the order is also the person doing the cooking! Not ideal when you're on a lunch break (as I often have been when visiting!) but fine if you've got a bit of time on your hands.
It's an indie club, so expect loud music, dark walls, sticky floors and the smell of stale beer. If you don't mind that (or even quite like it, which I do) and you fancy visiting a vegetarian version of a greasy spoon café you'll like this place.
It's also ridiculously good value for money!
Pros: Vegan English breakfast, Friendly staff, Great value
Cons: Can be slow, Lack of staff
