Do not miss this Bavarian potato experience!!! - Edit
Flavor. These folks understand amazing food and flavor. PLUS they boast Bavaria's best potatoes (Bavaria loves their potatoes!) It is a set menu, there is always one vegan dish, sometimes two. One time I had a layered dish with a slaw and the layered dish had a bell pepper sauce, layers of celeriac and more atop a big potato. Recently I had MAPO TOFU with fermented black beans, sunflower seeds, Szechuan pepper red and green, tofu (Organic Angermaier), celery, sesame-chilli-sunflower seed oil, black rice vinegar, peanuts, garlic, cucumber, pear, chili, ginger with a side slaw salad that was delicious too. Imagine a baked potato topped with all of those bang up toppings with the side slaw salad. The plates are cool--they are iconic for their place. White plates with a lip so it keeps all the food cozy and warm inside of the plate.

It is a set menu, there is always one vegan dish, sometimes two. Have fun finding your seat everytime (standing tables, cushions on benches, nearby benches--you'll make it work) Note they are closed on Mondays. You gotta do this!!! ENJOY!
Pros: SO Flavorful, Smart plating and a filling portion, Outdoor market fun vibe
Cons: Limited hours, Waiting in line

Next level street food - Edit
Besides 2 vegan items on the menu, there is one weekly changing dish (Kartoffel der Woche) that often is vegan and influenced by foreign cuisine and always features a huge baked German potato. The queues are already huge at 12pm when they start selling lunch, and the spare seating spots and tables tend to be very crowded, so be quick. This time I had a mung bean dhal with purple cole slaw and a mango coriander sauce topped with pickled sweet potatoes and crushed poppadams, which tasted heavenly. Every component was spot-on and well thought out, the street food here is just on a next level, imo. This place is a must if you're visiting Viktualienmarkt!
