Excellent option for a healthy meal in Alajuela

There are several places within El Patio that will cater to vegans. We were especially taken by Caribbea Cuisine, where the Costa Rican Caribbean owner (she spent a year in the States and her English is impeccable) took time - a good 15 minutes or more - to personally prepare overflowing plates with wonderful mushrooms, kale, a sidestew, gallo pinto, almost too many flavors for one plate. There are also excellent juice drinks (packaged but authentically Caribbean Tico) and items like somosas and some cookies etc that may not be fully vegan. Price was fair to inexpensive for Costa Rica. FOr a fast food set-up, this is real quality, and especially in a city that is otherwise not easy for vegans.

Pros: friendly, Healthy food, Not expensive
