Extensive vegan menu

Friendly service and fantastic vegan menu. It took about 20 minutes as they cook vegan food in a separate fryer and don't keep it fully hot to save energy. Allow time or phone in advance. The portions were huge as a previous review said.

Pros: Massive amount of vegan options, Separate fryer so no contamination, Friendly staff

Great choice of vegan food. Nice chips and big portions. Quick service. Option to sit in or take away. Reasonably cheap. The fish cake is home made in house. I wanted to give five stars but the app will only let me give four stars because it is not exclusively vegan.

Pros: Great choice of vegan food, Cheerful and friendly staff, Cleanliness

Pretty meh

Great to see a big vegan menu but the portions are way too big and wasteful. The food was pretty tasteless, including the chips. Had to wait quite some time and wasn’t warned about this. Wouldn’t go back sadly.

Best vegan options locally

Brilliant to have so many vegan options: banana blossom coddish, southern fried jackfruit, vegan sausages and burgers, and the list goes on. I opted for the vegan battered sausages which were very nice and my wife had the banana blossom coddish which she very much enjoyed. They even did a vegan curry sauce!

Lovely vegan fish

Would give 5 stars if I could! Great range of vegan options, incl imitation burgers, sausages & fish. All prepared seperately from meat options on the menu. Take away or a very nice sit down area inside. Lovely staff too, definitely worth a visit :)

Great vegan options freshly cooked

We had the pleasure of discovering Captain Cod yesterday evening. There are a great number of vegan choices available, all freshly prepared and cooked to order. The batter was crisp and enhanced the flavour of the food we we ordered. The dining area is bright, airy and very clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just before we left, as they were closing we observed a demonstration of such courtesy and patience toward a customer who entered in a drunken state, managing the situation with assertive skill and grace, Highly recommend this eatery for there food and their friendly professionalism.

Pros: Great choice of vegan options, Friendly and helpful staff, Value for money

What. A. Find.

This is exactly what you'd expect a chippy/canteen-style dining experience to be... Cheap and cheerful. They have an extensive vegan menu and the staff were really great - friendly and efficient.

Spoiler alert: if like us you're wondering what Aspen chips are, they're basically chips covered in a delicious garlic truffle oil. Absolutely amazing.

Menu includes battered sausages, burgers (beef, chicken and sausage style), banana blossom fish and Pukka pies.

The portions are super big! Probably no need to order extra chips with your Cappy burgers (burgers in a chip butty).

Pros: Huge menu, Great prices, Milkshakes

Banana blossom

First time I’ve eaten vegan ‘fish and chips’ - and the chips were also vegan - not cooked in the fish pan. Delicious - reasonable price - place was spotless- wish I lived nearer!!

Pros: A whole menu of vegan options!!

Cons: Nine on this visit - even had a glass of rose

Great vegan options

Loads of vegan options with massive portions. I took some banana blossom 'coddish' home with me to eat later. Onion rings are delicious, huge and homemade. Can sit in or out. Amazing vegan milkshakes too yum! We paid £25 for 2 vegan milkshakes, 2 coddish and regular chips, fried jackfruit and a portion of onion rings.

Pros: Huge portions, Cheap, Milkshakes!

Cons: None
