A small vegetarian cafe with several buffet dishes, priced according to weight. The owner is helpful in pointing out vegan items. The choices are mostly based around tofu, seitan and beans - either in stews or stir fried with rice (all but one was vegan). Try the freshly made juice. As of Jan 2020, possibly the only vegan spot in the town. It is a little difficult to find, but you can ask in the local library which is just around the corner. Takes ONLY Portuguese (Visa) cards or cash. Takes reservations. NOTE: maybe closed/shut down - please verify and let HappyCow know. Open Mon-Fri 10:30-15:00. Closed Sat, Sun.

A prova de que comida simples é a melhor comida

É o único restaurante vegetariano em Rio Maior e vale a pena passar por lá. A maioria da comida é totalmente vegetal: escolhemos o que queremos e respectiva quantidade e o valor final é calculado pelo peso. O senhor que está lá (o cozinheiro e proprietário) é muito simpático e aceita alguns pedidos de encomendas, desde bolos e até mesmo seitan caseiro (que é o melhor de sempre).

Pros: Boa comida, Comida saudável, Simpatia

The only vegan/veggie place in Rio Maior?

This is a small cafe with 6 buffet dishes, priced according to weight. The owner was very helpful. They only take Portuguese (Visa) cards or cash.

When we ate here, the choice was mostly based around tofu, seitan and beans either in stews or stir fried with rice. All but one was vegan. They were rather carb heavy, perhaps in reflection of traditional Portuguese cuisine, and only one dish of green beans as a vegetable.

The freshly made juice was excellent.

Possibly the only vegan oasis in this town. A little involved to find it. We asked in the local library which was just around the corner.

Pros: Clean, Juice bar

Cons: Lack of vegetables in the dishes
