I'd Avoid if I were you, if you're vegan - Edit
I fly out of Glasgow Airport a lot and have popped in to the Caledonia Bar quite a few times over the past few months. On every occasion they have told me that their vegan options are limited as they have no tofu available, the reason given being that it just "hadn't been ordered in". So I was already getting a bit weary of their commitment to offering decent vegan options.
Read moreHowever my last visit took the biscuit, I stupidly told them, as I entered, that I have a milk allergy, which I do, but it only leads to bloating and gas etc, not a need for an epi pen and hospitalisation. I tried to explain this to them but they said that as I'd already said "allergy" they would have to give me a separate menu on an iPad. Strangely none of the vegan options that I normally order from the standard menu where listed on the ipad. When I asked why I couldn't order any of the vegan options from the standard menu the reply I got was that "they have yogurt and that might include cows milk". When I tried to explain that vegan means no milk whether you have an allergy or not, I was told that it couldn't be guaranteed, and that the specialist menu had to be used.
I understand their concern about allergies, they can be very serious. But surely the customer knows what they are able to eat or not and how severe their allergy is. The restaurant basically wanted to be my doctor, nutirtionist and judge, and wished to dictate to me what I could and could not have, no matter what I wanted in the end.... as I'd mentioned the dreaded "allergy" word. It didn't seem to matter that I'd ate at the restaurant on multiple occasions before.
Also a restaurant that can't guarantee their vegan options are free from cows milk does not deserve to be supported by the vegan or plant based community.
I found a very nice vegan salad at Frankie and Bennies a few steps away. So there was at least a happy ending.

Good pit stop for a quick bite before flying - Edit
Hi, had an early lunch before flying, the staff were knowledgeable about their vegan options, order spicy jackfruit chilli, which was good. It was in the small plates menu and it was small but that’s what was ordered

Cons: Music was a bit inappropriate
