Was looking for a place that sold vegan gf cakes for my sons first birthday and couldn’t quite find any place that interest me. After doing extensive research we came across this place on instagram. This was by far the best vegan, gf we’ve tried when it comes to pastries it’s difficult to find something gf that actually has a great taste, texture. Glad to say my baby loved his cake. He normally hates sweets but this was by far the best not to simple but also not to sweet will definitely be back❤️

Sweets, treats, and service! - Edit
I love everything they offer here, my favorite menu item are their savory delights and anything churro or horchata flavor. Im not generally a sweets person, but the treats here are crafted perfectly and go well with their delicious golden milk latte. Not to mention the owner is such a delight!! I will never stop coming here!

Cake Girl is the Sweetest - Edit
Cake Girl, located at a cute counter inside a corner pharmacy, is a favorite stop when I’m in Boyle Heights for a cold brew and a treat. I love the moist, fresh-baked sweet taste of the raspberry muffins, doughnuts and chocolate chip cookies. The customer service is always excellent. I look forward to seeing and trying new pastries in the display case.

Cake Girl was delicious! I got a brownie, and my boyfriend got a whoopie pie alongside a cold brew horchata latte. So good! I love that it's in a vintage pharmacy and in Boyle Heights. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the treats my boyfriend and I got except for the sign outside.

My FAVORITE! - Edit
Cake Girl really is one of the best bakery's in the Boyle Heights area, and not because they're Vegan! Everything, and I really mean everything just taste so good, yummy and happy, even flavors I wouldn't normally go for. As a non vegan, I was so surprised at how although they tasted different from traditional cakes you wouldn't guess vegan! 🥹 The service there is also amazing, a small crew but all so engaging. Vegan and GF Goodness! - Edit
My partner and I finally tried Cake Girl and it was excellent. I love that all of their bakery items are also gluten free. We tried the chocolate cake donuts with chocolate icing and the lemon cake donut with hibiscus icing, and let me say these were the best vegan cake donuts I’ve ever had! We also tried several of their cupcakes which were also very good! We will definitely be back!

Cool little bakery in the back of a drug store. The day-old donuts and pastries are very cheap and still solid. The pumpkin spice chocolate donut was great!

Plant based and gluten free! - Edit
My partner and I stopped by a week ago during a muggy thunderstorm in June heat. It was worth it! I got a Coffee cake and she got a vanilla sprinkles donut. The pastry appeared unassuming. But once we got to taste it, it was delicious. The soft and fluffy texture is impressive for gluten free. My GF is sensitive to gluten so we have tried different gluten free pastries and this was one of her favorites for not compromising on flavor and texture. We really liked that this place appeared to be owned and operated by People of Color on the East side! The shop shares a space with another business, we really liked this too because it was not pretentious but local and people powered. I would highly recommend if you’re reading this! If you want some delicious, plant based and gluten free pastries from the neighborhood check it out. Oh and the coffee isn’t that bad, classic donut shop coffee vibes.

Great Variety Gluten Free Vegan Baked Goods - Edit
Gluten free vegan and not too sweet. Many flavors to choose from! We bought for the holiday: carrot cake loaves, pumpkin spice cupcake and donut, chocolate churro donut, crumb cake and lots more we haven't yet tasted. Located inside the pharmacy on the corner I definitely recommend the sweets here but in more moderation than we did! We have a big family to feed over several days! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone including the turkeys who are always welcome to eat at our table!
