New menu - Edit
Recently introduced a new menu with loads of vegan options. The salad bar is all vegan. There’s a full vegan breakfast which is lovely and the Vietnamese banh mi baguette is really good. Menu is really well labelled and not just the usual stuff either.

Not that many options - Edit
I feel like Chapter was better years ago which is unusual these days. The only mains are either an aubergine curry (and if I have curry I’d rather just go to an Indian place) and a sweet potato burger which was dry when I had it - definitely not worth getting again. Other than that they just have salad so certainly wouldn’t recommend for a main meal. The vegan breakfast is really good though so going for breakfast is definitely a good option! They do have a good selection of vegan cakes and they have soy milk.

Cons: Only two dinner choices, Gets very chilly inside!

Not bad. - Edit
We found this cafe while watching a movie at Chapter. We were surprised to find out that they have Vegan options. Their menu has labelled items suitable for vegans. Some of the vegan items were sold out or not available that evening. They also have Welshmans Lunch vegan cake there. I do love their cakes but a slice for £4 is pricy.
Read moreThe food was a bit bland and improvements needed. For the taste I found the price to be a bit high.
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: Serve dairy and meat, Bland food, Expensive

Great selection - Edit
For a non vegetarian/vegan restaurant I was well and truly blown away by the amount of choice, even with my added dietary requirement of gluten free thrown in to the mix I was still left with at least 3 options to eat, all of which sounded delicious. I opted for a quinoa salad which was so big in size I had to take half of it home! The dressing was delicious. Is nice to find a place to eat which has something for everyone.

An Alternatives Institution - Edit
Chapter is a Cardiff institution, perhaps the Cardiff institution. For decades it's been a Bierkeller of a space for the capitals artists, guardian readers, activists, greens, queers, disabled, welsh speakers, ... that together fill the hall with a great cacophony of excited sound. (Do seek out the quieter bits round both corners).
Read moreThe menu is mixed, but highly respectful of vegan choice. If only everywhere offered this much. It changes seasonally and there's always several offerings. It's the type of place where it can be hard to decide.
There's some vegan beer n wine, not well marked and not all the staff are knowledgable about this, but they never think it's a trouble to findout.
You don't know Cardiff until you know Chapter.
