Kinosaki onsen is tough for vegetarians and vegans. I would’ve eaten at this place every day but it was closed 2 of the 3 days I was there. They no longer have the vegan platter but the vegan curry is good. It was nice to have a decent vegan meal in kinosaki onsen for sure! Their soy milk matcha latte was also excellent.
Read moreIn any other situation the curry would be considered good but nothing to get excited about. In this town, though, it’s among the best of what you’ll find, and you will definitely enjoy it.

Great and inexpensive vegan curry - Edit
Kinosakionsen doesn't have much vegan options plus even less that aren't on the pricier shojin ryori side.

The cook was suoer friendly and despite not offering to take-away they prepared some extra ones to take out after we explained how difficult it was to find vegan meals.
Note that despite being on ground level, can be difficult to spot!
Would recommend if you are visiting Kinosaki!

I’m very pleased to say that the only affordable vegan meal option in KinosakiOnsen is a great choice. I came here twice, once for drinks (mulled wine) and then the next day for lunch.
Read moreWe both had the vegan beans curry. It was more like a stew than a curry, but that’s ok. It’s exactly what I needed on a cold winter day. The salad on the side was surprisingly nice too.
The other vegan option was a daily plate that’s made custom each day.
Their coffee was surprisingly nice too.
Pros: Affordable vegan meal in small town, Hearty vegan meal, Friendly staff
