Best vegan cafe in Southampton - Edit
Varied menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. Food is decent and far from trashy vegan fast food. They have a counter of fresh bakes and I always want to try everything. Food is available to eat in or takeaway - it is located opposite a nice park in Southampton city centre.
Read morePlenty of seating - they have tables both downstairs and upstairs. Also have a mini vegan shop for bits and bobs you might not find in a normal supermarket eg. vegan marshmallows.

I've been coming to this place before I transitioned and the food is so good! Even non vegan friends seem to enjoy the food just as much as I do. Staff are also very friendly. By far the best vegan cafe in Southampton.

A Fantastic Vegan Cafe - Edit
The food we had at Cafe Thrive was fantastic. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The service was quick. The restaurant was clean. I wish this place existed when I lived in Southampton whilst at University.
Read moreEverything was fresh tasting and came out hot. The cashew cheese was gorgeous. The poutine (special) was my favourite dish we ordered.
My only criticism of our meal was that the Reuben Sandwich would have better if I had the option to have rye bread
Pros: Fully Vegan, excellent value,, Regularly changing menu, Friendly staff, great food

I would be a regular if I lived here! - Edit
I ate here four times during my week-long stay in Southampton. The menu is great - it includes milkshakes and smoothies, salad bowls, sandwiches, breakfast until 11:30, burgers, desserts and other treats. Has cold drinks, including local craft beers from Unity Brewing. Additional tables are upstairs. It opens at 8:30 six days a week and 10:00 on Sunday (so much better than a nearby vegan spot, which opens only at 12 noon and is closed two days/week). It was a busy place at 4:15 pm on a Saturday, but I received quick and pleasant service, as always. On my first visit, I had the Wholefood Burger (lentils, mushrooms, quinoa, herbs) and crispy sweet-potato fries. Another time, a warmed cookie with ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. I took away a Red Velvet cupcake and chocolate-brownie fingers, both excellent. Next lunchtime, I ordered the Sweet-Root Salad Bowl, which was very, very good, and a side of onion rings. I had to return the following day, because I had noticed the Pancake Week menu! I had the bacon-and-eggs pancakes, which was very satisfying, with delicious seitan-bacon. I would certainly be a regular if I lived here.

We came to Southampton specifically for Cafe Thrive and weren’t disappointed. I had the ‘chicken’ burger and my partner had the whole food burger. We also had sweet potato fries and soft drinks. Everything tasted really good, but not too heavy. We also bought cookies to take away and will definitely return.

I love this place. Completely vegan, but has options on the menu for the meat eaters in your world (such as vegan bacon or vegan chicken burger). Menu is quite large as well so loads of options. They also do lovely cakes.

Very tasty food! - Edit
We were just passing through the city but I'm so glad we decided to stop. The food was awesome, I couldn't decide what to have but eventually chose the superfood milkshake - yum and the Sweet-Root Salad which was perfect! My husband had the Mediterranean Cashew cheese baguette, it was amazing too, I'm surprised he let me have some. Wish we lived close by!

Popped in for a couple of burgers and were really impressed. Great value for money - 2 different burgers, fries and sweet potato fries as well as two drinks for £22 is great. Unsurprisingly this place was busy, but don't worry if you go and it looks full - there are more seats upstairs

So much choice and great food! - Edit
Cafe thrive was one of the best quick service vegan cafes I’ve ever been to and had so much choice! In addition to the massive menu, they had a huge specials board and daily cake display. Definitely recommend their homemade seitan and everything I tried was delicious

Really fantastic menu, great choices for breakfast or lunch/dinner. Caters to vegan junk food lovers as well as those who want to stick to wholefoods! Was tempted by the whole food burger but naturally ended up with the ‘fried chicken’ one 😋

Great vegan cafe - Edit
People were really nice, and everything I had was really good. It’s so nice to have somewhere that doesn’t just have a veggie burger or curry (not that there’s anything wrong with those); variety is nice! The TLT was satisfying, and I wish I had asked what they used to dress the side salad because I really liked it. Also had a tiffin for dessert which, quite pleasantly, wasn’t overly sweet.

Best vegan food in Southampton - Edit
They do a wonderful vegan jackfruit and chips. Choose normal chips instead of sweet potato chips - you won't regret it.
Read moreIt would be perfect if it was in a bigger and more spacious site, with plenty of space for everybody - people with children on prams and disabled people using wheelchairs.
It would also be great to be able to order my meal via a popular food delivery app.
Pros: quality, taste, vegan
Cons: they don't work with food delivery apps, toilet is upstairs and it is very tiny, people with children block spaces with prams
