UPDATE: closed - Not vegetarian any more

UPDATE: Soleil II is closed, place is for sale or rent now

As from today Cafe Soleil II at 440 street is selling meat dishes (at least in the morning) specially for Khmer customers.

Business was not running, so apart from selling second hand clothes, they now try meat as well.

quiet place near russian market.

had curried vegtable noodle soup and fresh spring rolls, all was good
i will return.

just in the right place

the (small) menu, the taste, the (un)availability of items,... it's all pretty much the same as in cafe soleil on 278 street. so i won't write about it here again.

but i was rather pleased to finally find a vegetarian restaurant right at the russian market. easy enough to find and open long hours. it might be just the place vegetarians in phnom penh always needed before or after extensive shopping in the russian market.

if you're up to something exotic: try the fried mango, with tofu and mushrooms.

Pros: good location, light and fresh food, beer and wine available

Cons: not much choice on the menu, certain items frequently sold out, mild seasoning, especially with salads
