Delicious Breakfast

Enjoyed a delicious varied breakfast at Shanti. Very friendly and caring owners. My only slight issue was that I have breathing problems and the strong incense affected my chest.

Pros: All Vegan, Friendly owners

Cons: Incense sticks

Overwhelming choice!

We were happy to see that the extensive menu doesn’t rely on seitan and caters for vegans not relying on meat substitutes. There were so many exciting things on the menu to choose from and since we had travelled quite a way to try this place out, we ordered lots of dishes. Unfortunately (!) the portion sizes were HUGE so we struggled to finish.

The garlic bread was really garlicky and had lots of cheese on it. We had the nachos with jackfruit also and it was SO tasty. By the time we’d finished our starters we were full!

We had already ordered our main courses and it would have been rude not to eat them! The vegan sausage casserole was the only “meat substitute” dish on the menu and as such looked pretty interesting. Since we wanted to try things we don’t regularly have at home we had decided to give it a go; it was delicious! There were 3 or 4 different burgers to choose from and we went for the bean burger. This was our least favourite dish but we were pretty stuffed by now! The sweet potato chips were really good however.

Finally there were some appealing looking cakes in the fridge and we had to take a couple of slices away and they were light and yummy.

So the food was great and the cafe itself is really colourful, quirky and welcoming with lots of Buddhist influences. Overall a really enjoyable experience and well worth the 40 mile drive. We’ll be back to explore more of the menu (though maybe order fewer dishes next time)!

Fantastic fully vegan (from 24/4) eatery- Worth the trip!!!

This quickly became our favourite vegetarian place to visit in Lincoln, imagine our delight now they have gone FULLY VEGAN! so excited, but for us there will be no change, i will still order my vegan hot chocolate with vegan whipped cream and a vegan chicken fajita----i'll just have to say the word 'vegan' less! hehe. Absolutely stunning food, the shredded cheeze is top notch, 'not chicken' is deliscious and not TOO real tasting, love the setting, relaxed and friendly, plus they do ALOT for charity.

Pros: Fully Vegan from 24/4/19, Amazing setting, so much to see, friendly staff and quick service

Cons: not much space, best to book.

Favourite café in Lincoln

Absolutely love this place. All of the food is incredible and really well-priced. Definitely recommend the cakes, especially the salted caramel. The atmosphere is really chilled. They are conscious of sustainability and sell reusable water bottles and offer reusable straws when drinking in.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Well-priced

Good

A small place with interesting decor (although it might not be to the taste of some). Plenty of vegan options to choose from. It's on the small side and I've found you may need to reserve a table if it's at the weekend.

Pros: Many vegan options, Inexpensive, Friendly

Cons: Not many tables, very small

Lovely

It's so lovely here. They have a great menu offering vegan and veggie foods at really reasonable prices. The food we have had has always been absolutely lovely.
They have communal tables, I probably wouldn't come if wanting a romantic meal. But due to the communal table set up we have had some lovely conversations with new/ old vegans. It's so great to be surrounded by like minded people. Would really reccomend, the colours are decor is so pretty here aswell! You can't help but feel happy!

Pros: Great food/ interesting menu , Reasonable price , Lovely staff

Cons: Communal set up isn't for everyone/ every occasion

Lovely vegan ice cream

Vegan raspberry ice cream for £1.25. This place is verrrrry bohemian which is great if that’s your style but I understand why some might find it overwhelming given it’s small size. The staff were lovely and food was reasonably priced- it has a convenient location too. There is no counter. Food can be taken away upon request.

Pros: Affordable , Large selection, Nice location

Cons: Small size

Incredible food, lovely staff, very affordable

Café Shanti is amazing! Their curries are absolutely delicious. My favourite is the Banana Korma. Most of their menu is vegan with a few dairy items. Exchange your rice for sweet potato fries, they really are something else. The food is very filling and you may feel stuffed but you have to make an effort and order a dessert. They have a range of fresh cakes every day (served with vegan ice cream) and each and one of them is delicious. The café is linked with Lincs2Nepal, an NGO providing education to low caste children in Nepal. When you're there have a chat with Garry to see how you can help! You can sponsor a child monthly and help them get an education. It really is a wonderful place.

Pros: delicious, lovely interior, friendly staff

Help with buying shoes

Was visiting my niece in Lincoln and popped in as did vegan choices.
In one step you have gone from medieval Lincoln to Nepal. It's dim and yet colourfull inside. Tables are close together and shared when busy.
I loved the bannana with baby carrot curry. After had vanilla and velvet cake.
A nice touch is that they support a charity that helps educate lower caste children as well as other projects in Nepal.
After I brought vegan trainers around corner. The shop assistant was in cafe at same time as us, he's was very helpful and I got the shoes.

Pros: Nice feel to the place. Good value.

Cons: A bit slow

Delicious warming food

This was a really cute and cosy little restaurant with lovely staff. Loads of great vegan options including all the cakes. My partner and I went with another couple. We each had the vegan cheesy garlic bread for starters which was delicious and our friends had another bread and dip dish as well. I had the lasagna with a side of sweet potato chips for my main and it was incredible. The lasagna was so warming and lovely, some vegan lasagna can be a bit hit and miss but this was amazing. My partner really enjoyed the falafel wrap and he also had a hot chocolate that was delicious. I got the winter warmer hot drink which was really good. We also got some biscoffi cake which was nice but didn't have as much of the biscoffi spread as we would have liked.

Pros: mostly vegan, nice staff, cute and cosy

Cons: cakes could have been better

Amazing veggie food, cheap prices, great ambience

There is a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options here. I have travelled in Nepal and would say that the food and decor are authentically Nepalese. The ambience is very relaxed and the staff are very friendly. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; and the cakes are really tasty too.

Pros: Authentic Nepalese food, Cheap prices, Great ambience
