Fluffy pancakes! - Edit
These two fluffy large pancakes were delicious! More strawberries and / or blueberries would have been a great addition but otherwise perfect!

Loved it - Edit
Great find! I had the vegan pancakes and a soy latte. Coming from New Zealand this has been the best espresso coffee we’ve had so far in the US on our vacation! The pancakes were delicious too.

Pros & Cons - Edit
This is one of the few places in Memphis that has vegan breakfast options! If you like traditional pancakes, the vegan pancakes here are great! They also have vegan granola and many menu items can be made vegan upon request. Options include the breakfast wrap, garden scramble, tater hash, fruit, salad, black bean wrap, and vegan burger.
Read moreI used to eat here more often but unfortunately the quality is inconsistent. Sometimes the breakfast scramble and tater hash was absolutely perfect... other times it was heavily soaked with oil, dripping and a bit soggy. One time I ordered a salad and the greens were soggy and brown. I tried to pick out the bad parts but it was no use. They kindly fixed it but I was shocked someone let those expired greens leave the kitchen. Another time I found a small piece of meat in my food. The last time I was there, I was enjoying a black bean wrap when the server rushed over to inform me that the cook used regular mayo instead of veganaise. He was so apologetic and worried I might have a serious allergy. He was a great server and I understand.. everyone makes mistakes sometimes. But unfortunately mistakes seem to happen often here. The vegan pancakes were always great though!
I like the atmosphere... it kinda has a hip artsy vibe. They have some artwork including a huge colorful painting by a famous Memphis artist. It's usually really busy so I recommend going early.
I'm on the fence about a rating. I appreciate the vegan options and REALLY want to support that!! The food is usually pretty good and the location is super convenient. On the other hand, the food can be inconsistent and there's always a chance of cross contamination. Perhaps the quality control in the kitchen has improved since my last visit. I might try it again because I did like the food when it was prepared well. I'm not a huge pancake fan but just thinking about those vegan pancakes makes me want one!
I also wish they had some vegan pastries and treats. They have a display case up front with all sorts of things but none are vegan. Maybe I'll get lucky next time and they'll have something!
Pros: Vegan pancakes + options, Servers are nice, The artwork
Cons: Cross contamination, Inconsistent quality, No vegan pastries or treats

Great Atmosphere! - Edit
This place has a fantastic atmosphere. The workers are all so happy and joking and laughing with each other and the guests, and I love that!
Read moreAs for food, it was great and not so great at the same time. I got a latte made with almond milk, but it seems like it wasn't sweetened at all, so I had to sweeten it and ruin the beautiful barista art.
I got "The Rachel" but made vegan and "naked" as a scramble. I was really excited for this, but it had almost zero flavor. I had to load it up with salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Tofu is one of those things that you have to season really well, otherwise it'll taste like a sponge. Also, the vegetables that were on the scramble weren't cooked at all, they were raw.
The vegan pancakes, however, were PHENOMENAL! I've never had vegan pancakes that fluffy and delicious. I'm so glad I wasn't able to finish it all because now I get to eat the rest tomorrow lol.
Overall, I'd return, I'd just voice my comments beforehand.

Good vegan pancakes are hard to find, so when I have a chance to try some new ones, I jump on them. These vegan pancakes were amazing. Light and fluffy and I loved the added granola.

CROSS CONTAMINATION!!!! - Edit
My wife and I went here passing through Memphis for some good vegan breakfast. I saw a lot of good reviews so we ordered the VEGAN PANCAKES along with some other food. I was almost halfway through one of the pancakes when I started tasting something savory and the texture was off. I spit everything out and found CHICKEN in my pancakes!!!! It’s not like it accidentally fell in the box, the chicken was COOKED inside the batter of the pancake. When we brought it up, the kitchen manager refused to take fault. We believe they cook all of their food on the same grill; there was probably chicken on the grill and they just put the pancake batter on top. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place for any vegan.

BEST Vegan Pancakes - Edit
The vegan pancakes are amazing! I dream dreams of these pancakes. I have a dairy allergy, so most places I eat out pancakes are a no-go. These vegan pancakes are delicious and fluffy. Topped with house-made granola and berries. There are several other vegan options at Eclectic, however, I keep going back for these delicious pancakes.

Best vegan pancakes EVER! - Edit
My family enjoyed the best vegan pancakes we have ever had (by far) at the Harbor Town Square location of Eclectic Cafe. The pancakes are topped with fresh berries and a “granola” that reminded me more of chopped praline nuts and was just delicious. They also had oat, soy and (I think) almond milks and could make lattes with any of those. The vegan breakfast sausage and hash browned potatoes (a mix of white and sweet potatoes) as sides were also great! Crispy, tender and not greasy. I don’t usually notice coffee quality, but it seemed particularly good as well. This was the best vegan breakfast we’ve ever had in 10 years of veganism. Not sure why there’s not more Happy Cow reviews!

Tasty and hit the spot - Edit
We grabbed food at Eclectic cafe after seeing the reviews here. We needed a quick 10am bite while on a road trip. We ordered online and went with the vegan version of Rachel’s breakfast wrap.
Read moreWe stopped inside to pick up our food. The place was happening. Lots of diners outside and some inside (all being in line with covid guidelines) and lots of cool options for cafe drinks on the wall-displayed menu. Our food was packed I two small white paper boxes and labeled in a plastic bag.
The food was hot and hit the spot! The tofu scramble wrap probably could have used something green in it— spinach or kale. I wonder if they could add that next time! It was salty- probably part of why it was so savory.
Hoping they can add more vegan options to their online ordering for next time we come through!

Great Tofu Scramble Wrap - Edit
I went here a couple of months ago so I can't guarantee my review to still hold true. That being said, when I was in Memphis this was the first place we went, straight from the airport. The tofu scramble wrap was so good we came back!

Vegan waffles & tofu scramble, no vegan butter or meat substitutes - Edit
There didn't seem to be many options for vegan breakfast in Memphis, but this place had vegan waffles, pancakes, and tofu scramble so we gave it a try. Our server seemed a bit confused about what was vegan or not. The pancakes and waffles were labeled vegan so we knew we were at least safe with those. He also suggested veggie sausage, but then said they made it with egg, so there's really no vegan meat substitutes here. We had a tofu scramble breakfast burrito which was delicious with salsa, a vegan waffle, and hash browns which he assured us were cooked in oil, not butter. Everything was good, just wish they had vegan butter for waffles.😒

Pretty good - Edit
We stopped in for Sunday brunch. They have a separate brunch menu, which didn't include the tofu scrambles or the vegan pancakes that are on the regular breakfast menu, but when I asked they were happy to make them. I had the vegan pancakes and an earl grey with almond milk. My husband had the same with the veggie sausage added. He liked that, I thought it was kind of soggy. I like my veggie sausage crisp on the outside. There weren't tons of options, but it was nice to get something for breakfast at a restaurant other than oatmeal.

Vegetarians, there were TONS of vegetarian options on the menu, all clearly marked. And even a separate vegetarian specials board.

Pretty Good! - Edit
My family and I have been Vegans for almost a whole year now and, living in Memphis, TN; we did not expect to find many places with veg options. But, we have been surprised and this little place was a nice addition to our options. The place was quaint and sweet and they served us out meal. I was a bit disappointed by the lack of options that were available for the Veg community, but better than nothing. I got the tofu wrap and a 'cute' salad. the salad was FANTASTIC and the wrap would have been better if we'd been told it would be SO spicy. I also had a Soy Chai Tea Latte which was delicious, but they charged us for our soymilk which i did not appreciate. Overall it was a good experience and I probably will make a stop there with my family again in the future. :)
