The food is fantastic!

Such a great place, order Mie goreng! The noodles are so extremely good, you don’t want it to stop! Everything is prepared vegan if you ask the owner. They use tempeh instead of meat, every thing has a unique flavor, Such a blessing to eat here!!!

Pros: Inspirationaly good food, Super nice atmosphere and owner , Best Noodles ever

Awesome secret spot!

5 stars restaurant. Nice, cozy, small spot in Koenji. Owner was very welcoming and knew what vegan was. We asked if the Nasi Campur and the Mie Goreng can be veganized. It could! The Nasi Campur is basically a plate with everything plus rice and the Mie Goreng (my fav!) is their fried noodle dish. They also have to tempeh sides and maybe three veggie dishes (ask for vegan to make sure!). Price was 1000 Yen each. Worth it!!!

(No sight of bugs btw.)

Super nice food

Nice small place, friendly staff. 3 different ways of cooked tempeh, great satay and flavours. One of the best places from my trip in tokyo!

Tempeh with side of cockroaches

Went there for lunch and they had 3 platters to choose from, all with a reasonable amount for what you pay for. The peanut sauce was delicious. Meat can be substituted for tempeh, which could have used a bit more seasoning. The spicy sauteed chili peppers packed a kick and that was the real show stopper.

Here's the really bad part. This place is infested with bugs and unsanitary. I come from the Philippines but I've never seen a restaurant this dirty. From moment we sat down, we saw a baby cockroach crawling on a cup. Some leftover lettuce and rice was just laying on the table.

As we continue on with our meal, we counted a total of four creepers, within a span of 30 mins. The last one even had wings. My partner didn't even finish his meal and had to wait outside as I finished mine. It was THAT bad. So really, this restaurant might be on Happy Cow but it should come with a disclaimer: "May contain bugs".

Pros: Good value

Cons: Bug infestation, Dirty

Great option close to Shin Koenji station

I stumbled across this location while exploring my new neighborhood. It’s very easy to miss. The owner is really nice and very proud of his food. They make the tempeh in house, and are willing to sub tempeh in for meat in the meat dishes.

I ordered the two tempeh apps, one was very dry and I wouldn’t get it again. The one that looks like yakitori is good.

The star of the meal was the dinner he made us. He subbed tempeh in and it was really good. The flavors were really well developed, and deep.

Pros: Friendly , Willing to make changes , Owner operated

Cons: Serves meat and fish
