Quaint outdoor spot on the Plaza. - Edit
The eggplant tacos were awesome. My hibiscus flower juice was really well balanced. It's a great little vegan joint that I'll definitely be returning to soon.

El trato es muy bueno al igual que la comida, se encuentra en la Plaza de Arecibo. Se come afuera, pero siempre están al pendiente

Better than any vegan food I’ve had in Dallas - Edit
We had the spicy pineapple margarita, eggplant tacos and Buddha bowl with fried tofu. Omg! It was so freaking good. We have a lot of vegan options near us in Texas, but this was better than anything we’ve had. The fried tofu and fried eggplant 😋🥰

Honestly this was the best meal we’ve had in Puerto Rico! I had the eggplant tacos and they were absolutely divine. My husband loved his Thai salad. We will definitely be back!

So grateful this place is in Arecibo as there’s very limited options in the area.

Great Vegan Cafe - Edit
We had a lovely late lunch and snagged the last table. My husband and I each had a smoothie. The piña colada one was delicious. We shared the tacos and enchiladas and everything was so flavourful and fresh! We even got hummus and chips to eat later.

Boricua Buddha Bowl - Edit
Cute place in the plaza with amazing food. We had the Buddha bowl with a side of amarillos (fried plantains) and requested the chili sauce on the side. It was heavenly. We also took for the table two stuffed avocados-one with the ceviche and one with grains, two piña coladas, and a drink with tajin on the rim (I forgot the name). Only 2/4 of us are vegan and everyone loved their meals.
Read moreA queer and vegan place is such a win here. We enjoyed everything except the amarillos were quite dry. Menu items may vary and menu changes with availability, so ask if you want something off menu.
Nature hazards: My partner got literally 247 tick bites (we later counted) sitting at one of the 5 available tables in shorts, so I highly recommend coming in long pants. I was happy to share my drink with a beautiful bee visitor, but my mom and grandma were a bit scared 😅 🥑 🐝 seating is limited and outdoors.

It was great. Not going to lie though, PR prices have me gagged. Coming out of Asia, we put down almost $90 here for 3 dishes and 2 drinks. How the taxes are always added at the end too- I am shook 😵💫🫠😅

Cactu is literally a hole in a wall. We loved it! The seating is all outdoors so beware of bees and people watching you eat haha. However the food is worth it. Especially in a cute small town. Please go and support!

Cute spot with great food! - Edit
I ordered the eggplant tacos, pesto quesadilla, tostones, and tofu nuggets. Loved all of them. The flavour of the tofu was really good. We ate so fast I couldn’t take a photo haha. Quesadillas and tacos were filling and had a nice crunch to them.
Read moreThe place is a small shop on the corner and has a few tables outside on the road. They had umbrellas and shade for the tables. We went for lunch and it was scorching hot. Would recommend getting a big hat!

Fine - Edit
The workers were attentive, accommodating, and kind. Outdoor was seating was clean. They offered free sanitizer and bug spray. Presentation was colorful. I appreciate every vegetarian restaurant, but food was okay, portions were way too small. I spent over $100 for four and we were still hungry after.

Stopped here on a road trip around the island and it really hit the spot. Really cool location beneath the town square and the girl working there was very nice. I highly recommend the banana peanut butter smoothie.

Best vegan option between San Juan and Rincon - Edit
It was tough to find solid vegan options around Arecibo but Cactù had some of the tastiest food we had on the island! The nachos with homemade tortilla chips were fantastic, and their tofu was perfection...hardest thing was deciding what to try on their menu. The juices were out of this world too. Definitely recommend if you're driving anywhere near Arecibo and want to stop for food before you hit the west coast.

Absolutely amazing! - Edit
This was by far the best food we had in Puerto Rico.
Read moreThe restaurant is located in the square, look for the stone building, it's a little take out window with shaded seating.
The staff were so nice and friendly. All the food is made with love and care and purpose.
Tried the tostone ceviche, absolutely so good. Had the eggplant tacos, they were good but not amazing, the nachos were superb and the fries with the spicy mayo were also very very good. The strawberry smoothie was divine as was the alcohol free hibiscus drink.
I would for sure go out of my way to come back here.

The place is a little hole in the wall under the Arecibo Center square. But what a good place to eat vegan food! Great food, good beverage and nice pleasant staff.

Veganx total - Edit

Thank Goodness - Edit
This is an amazing change of pace if you have been surviving on mofungo and plantain like I was 😄 Beautiful drinks, perfect presentation, cute outdoor seating along the street. The ladies inside were really patient and helpful with my broken Spanish, lol. There is no indoor seating here, but if the tables are taken, there are park benches right up the stairs in the courtyard. Their menu rotates, but if you get a chance to try the stuffed tortilla thing (pictured) I would definitely try that. I doubled back to get it a couple days later and it wasn't as great that time, but cross your fingers and hope for a good day, because it was delicious! Focaccia was really dry, I wouldn't suggest that, but everything else was really good. Wish I had time to try more of the menu.
