Lovely

Place is located in a sort of backyard overlooking the river! There are no markings on the menu whether dishes are vegan, however you can just ask the staff they are informed. All the smoothie bowls are vegan! Many options as well for breakfast, lunch & dinner. They also have coconut trees in their garden, so if available you can drink it freshly!

Pros: Fresh coconut water, Healthy

Gem of a place

Owner was happy for me to sit relaxing for an hour recuperating from my walk in the sun until I was ready to order lunch. They put a chair out for me in the garden overlooking the trees down to the river. A perfectly idyllic spot!
Note that there is ongoing work as they build a new kitchen etc, but this did not distract from the tranquility of the place.
I had a green rainbow juice (mint, cucumber and lime) plus a vegan burger with sweet potato cubes. The drink was super refreshing (and used a metal recyclable straw), while the burger was simply delicious. I tried a little of the coconut chilli sauce which was also great - I ended up buying some to take home!

Pretty nice food

The food itself here is pretty nice, not the best I have ever had, but given that vegan food is hard to come by in Puerto Maldonado, it's quite good. What really elevates the place (would probably add half a star) are all the animals who comes by every once in a while to visit via the surrounding trees - sloths, tamarin monkeys, night monkeys, agoutis, as well as a dozen different birds. I recommend sitting here with some food and drink for some hours, and animal watch, maybe bring a book.

Best place in Puerto Maldonado

Delicious food, friendly family business and occasionally visited by sloths. Take some time when you want to eat there, but it is worth the wait. The food is delicious and made with love and super healthy.

Best place in town!

There is no better place for veggie food, not only delicious and literally farm to table fresh but also beautifully presented and such a fun inviting and knowledgeable staff. We are really excited about their new location because there are still the best things from cacao centers previous menu and so many new surprises... Like being right next to the river and only one block from the plaza.

Pros: Yummy food, Amazing location , Inspiring mission

Rich cacao delights

I ended up here by accident, with a group of people on Valentine's evening - I can imagine it would have been romantic for a couple!

I ordered a chocolate margarita and an avocado cacao mousse, the drink was very strong but had a nice creaminess and the mousse was super rich! The service was friendly but a bit over the top, chaotic and slow - but the speciality of the place made up for this.

Pros: All the chocolate!, Interesting venue and theme, Tasty drinks and food

Cons: Chaotic, slow service

If you visit Puerto Maldonado...

This is a fun café in every way. Super friendly and informative staff - full of sound knowledge about the food they serve and also the local area - don’t hesitate to ask.
REALLY delicious food, with emphasis on ultra-fresh and obviously local, they really deliver on their promise - “classic dishes with a twist of fresh Amazonian flavours and sustainably sourced ingredients”.
If you’re really hungry, try the rainbow poke bowl which is also a feast for the eyes, or Ava’s Garden Garbanzo Burger with a tasty home-pickled cucumber on the side.
The rainbow juices are sooooo refreshing my personal favourite being the blend of watermelon and lime which was perfect.
There’s obviously a big emphasis on chocolate and if that’s what you love you won’t be disappointed; I haven’t yet tried everything on the desert menu but I could there will be anything better than the “Die Happy” 3 layers chocolate cake?
An inventive and evolving menu, don’t be afraid to try anything on the menu, it’s all just so good and as a real bonus beautifully presented.
Slow food at its best. 😊

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Large menu, all delicious and fresh, Inventive

Creative and flavourful food

We started with the spring rolls (raw) that came with their special peanut sauce - sooooo good! Another restaurant that shows that healthy food can be amazingly great. Our new favorite starter now:)
Also the Rainbow poke bowl with brown rice was really good. We also chose the African peanut dressing (it was just too good).
Drinks: we went for the Vital smoothie made of mango, pineapple, mint and Brazil nut milk. Soooo tasty.
Next to the great taste we enjoyed how beautiful and creative they prepared the food (please see photos).
We also liked the vibes up here. The staff is super friendly, attentive and prepares the food to your needs.
Do yourself a favor and stop by here. We loved it!
